❤️ HEART TALK SERIES | MEET ADELINE ❤️

Today, I have the privilege of sharing the story of a truly incredible young girl, 🫀

From the very beginning, Adeline’s heart was telling a story. What appeared to be a healthy newborn quickly became a life-changing discovery when doctors found that she was experiencing dangerous arrhythmias caused by Long QT Syndrome Type 2 — an inherited heart rhythm condition that can lead to sudden cardiac arrest.

Through the dedication of her medical team, genetic testing, specialized cardiac care, and the strength of her family, Adeline received the treatment she needed, including a pacemaker and medications that help protect her heart every single day.

Now 10 years old, Adeline is active, thriving, and proving that a heart diagnosis does not define the life you can live. Her story is a powerful reminder of the importance of listening to our bodies, understanding our family history, seeking specialized care, and staying prepared for cardiac emergencies.

Adeline’s journey also highlights why CPR and AED awareness matters. You never know when a life may depend on someone being prepared to act.

I am so thankful to Adeline and her family for trusting me with their story and allowing me to share it throughout my year as Miss Davidson County. It is an honor to use my platform and my initiative, Heart First: Prioritizing Cardiovascular Health in Every Community, to educate, advocate, and remind others that heart health starts with awareness.

As I prepare to begin Miss North Carolina Week, my heart is filled with gratitude for the journey that has brought me here. This experience is so much more than a title; it is an opportunity to serve, inspire, and represent the incredible communities that have shaped me.

A special thank you to Congdon Yards for graciously hosting our interviews and so many of the events throughout Miss North Carolina Week. Your support helps create a space where dreams are pursued, friendships are made, and memories are created that will last a lifetime.

I cannot wait to spend this week alongside so many incredible women, celebrating the Miss America Opportunity and the impact we are all working to make.

Happy Birthday to my sweet teenie, Lucianna! 🤍🥳

I hope you have the most amazing day celebrating YOU! Watching your journey throughout this year has been so special, and I am so thankful that we get to experience this together.

One of my favorite things about this reign has been discovering just how similar we are (right down to our outfits… because somehow we always end up dressing alike 😂✨). From our conversations to our shared moments, I am so grateful for the friendship we have built along the way.

I cannot wait to make even more memories together during Miss North Carolina week and cheer you on every step of the way. I am so proud of you and the incredible young woman you are becoming.

One week from today, I will move in for the Miss North Carolina competition… and I truly cannot believe this moment is finally here.✨

This opportunity is something I have dreamed about since I was five years old. My journey in the Miss America Organization began as a Carolina Princess, continued as an Outstanding Teen, and now, I have the incredible honor of representing my community as a Miss.

Looking back, this journey has taught me so much about growth, confidence, resilience, and the importance of using your voice for something greater than yourself. The little girl who once stepped on stage with big dreams could never have imagined the places this path would lead her — the friendships, the lessons, the opportunities to serve, and the chance to make an impact.

Serving as Miss Davidson County has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. I am so grateful to represent such a wonderful community and to have the opportunity to be a role model for Davidson County and the entire state of North Carolina.

As I prepare to step into this next chapter, I am filled with gratitude and excitement. I cannot wait to walk into Miss North Carolina week carrying my community, my experiences, and my passion for service with me.

A day in my life…

One of my favorite parts of my journey this year has been the opportunity to work inside the Reid Heart Center, where I get to spend my days in a cardiovascular clinic surrounded by incredible providers, healthcare professionals, and most importantly — patients.

Every day brings a new story. I have the privilege of meeting patients, listening to their experiences, learning about their health journeys, and seeing firsthand the importance of compassionate cardiovascular care. These moments continue to remind me why my community service initiative, Heart First: Prioritizing Cardiovascular Health in Every Community, is so close to my heart.

Heart health is more than numbers on a chart — it’s about people, families, and the stories behind every heartbeat. Working in cardiology has allowed me to see the impact of education, prevention, and early intervention every single day. It is a constant reminder that taking care of our health should always be a priority.

One of the little joys of my routine has been being able to take a quick walk into work, soak up some sunshine, and enjoy a peaceful moment before the day begins ☀️ (and of course… we had to make a Starbucks stop happen ☕️✨).

After a full day of caring for others, I ended my day by taking care of myself with some updated blood work. Working in healthcare has shown me that we spend so much time encouraging others to prioritize their health — but we have to remember to do the same for ourselves. Regular check-ins, preventive care, and listening to our bodies are all important parts of a healthy lifestyle.

This year has truly taught me the importance of balance. Between working full-time in cardiology and preparing to represent Davidson County at Miss North Carolina, I’ve learned how to prioritize, stay organized, and make every moment count.

So thankful for this season of growth — where my career, my passion, and my service all align.

One of the greatest joys of serving as Miss Davidson County is supporting leaders who are creating meaningful change in our communities.

Recently, I had the opportunity to support our reigning Miss North Carolina, Sophia, and her new incredible application, Blessly — a free, community-powered map of blessing boxes across the United States. Through the app, users can easily locate blessing boxes, donate items, add new locations, and help connect neighbors with essential resources.

I was amazed by how simple and user-friendly the platform was to navigate. Within minutes, I was able to submit a newly discovered blessing box in my hometown, helping expand the growing network of nearly 400 blessing boxes already mapped across the country. Even more impressive was how quickly submissions are reviewed and approved, making it easy for communities to get involved and make an immediate impact.

Food insecurity continues to affect millions of individuals and families every day, and resources like Blessly help bridge the gap by increasing awareness and accessibility to community support systems. Every blessing box represents compassion, generosity, and neighbors helping neighbors.

Sophia’s dedication to fighting food insecurity is inspiring, and I am so thankful for her servant heart, unwavering compassion, and commitment to making a difference throughout North Carolina and beyond. It is leaders like her who remind us that even the smallest acts of kindness can create lasting change.

❤️ HEART TALK SERIES | MEET BILL ❤️

As we continue through CPR and AED Awareness Month, I’m honored to share another powerful survivor story that reminds us why these lifesaving skills are so important.

Bill was healthy, active, and had just crossed the finish line of a 5K race when he suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest. With no warning signs and no major health concerns, his life changed in an instant.

Thankfully, two off-duty nurses were nearby and immediately began CPR, sustaining him until emergency responders arrived. Because they were trained and willing to act, Bill was given a second chance at life.

Today, Bill shares his story to educate others about the importance of CPR and AED accessibility. He now owns a company that helps install AEDs throughout his community, ensuring more people have access to these lifesaving devices when seconds matter most.

His story is a reminder that cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, regardless of age or fitness level. Learning CPR and knowing where AEDs are located can make all the difference in an emergency.

In just TWO weeks, I will proudly represent Davidson County on the Miss North Carolina stage at the High Point Theatre! 👑

Join us June 24–26 for preliminary competition as the incredible delegates of Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina’s Teen compete for the opportunity to earn their place in the finals. Then, on June 27, we will crown our next Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina’s Teen!

These past several months have been filled with preparation, service, growth, and excitement, and I cannot wait to share this journey with all of you. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way — your encouragement means more than you know.

I hope you’ll follow along and cheer on all of the outstanding young women as we celebrate scholarship, service, style, sisterhood and success. See you at High Point Theatre! ❤️

Yesterday, we had the privilege of sharing our journey during our Wardrobe Showing as we prepare to head to Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina’s Teen in just a couple of weeks!

A huge thank you to our incredible Miss Thomasville / Central Carolina / Davidson County Organization committee and Carolina Stars for hosting such a wonderful event and making the evening so special. Your dedication, encouragement, and countless hours of support mean more than words can express.

To our friends, family, volunteers, and sponsors —thank you for showing up and showering us with so much love and encouragement before we take the Miss North Carolina stage. Your support fuels our confidence and reminds us how blessed we are to represent such an amazing community.

I am beyond excited and grateful to showcase the hard work, growth, and preparation that have filled these last several months. It is truly an honor to represent Davidson County at Miss North Carolina, and I cannot wait to step onto that stage carrying the pride of our community with me.

As National CPR & AED Awareness Week comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on just how important this week truly is.
This week is about more than learning a skill — it is about empowering everyday people to become lifesavers.

Every year, more than 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in the United States, and nearly 90% of those victims do not survive. However, immediate CPR can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival. Unfortunately, fewer than half of cardiac arrest victims receive bystander CPR before emergency responders arrive.

Throughout this week, I spent time exploring my hometown and locating public AEDs throughout our community. I found many of them in places where families gather every day — sports complexes, athletic fields, and recreational parks. Seeing these devices readily available reminded me how fortunate we are to have access to lifesaving equipment when every second matters.

An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is designed to be used by ordinary people, and when paired with CPR, it can dramatically improve survival outcomes during a cardiac arrest emergency. The reality is that emergency responders cannot always arrive immediately, which is why prepared and informed community members are so important.

Being CPR trained is not just a certification — it is a responsibility. The life you save could be a teammate, a friend, a parent, a sibling, or even a complete stranger. Most cardiac arrests happen at home, meaning the person who needs CPR is often someone you know and love.

I encourage everyone to take the time to learn CPR, familiarize yourself with the AED locations in your community, and be prepared to act when it matters most. Awareness creates confidence, confidence creates action, and action saves lives.
