Our recently ADOPTED PRISSY JUNE has settled in at her new home and has become such a loving kitty, according to DIANE, her new Mom. Transferred/Pulled by rescue!
UPDATE: We want to clarify the concern regarding momma’s mammary area. Our concern is that the mammary area could burst if the pressure and irritation continue.

Her puppies have been nursing very aggressively, which is causing damage and discomfort. Steps have been taken for tonight to help relieve her, and she is currently on medication under veterinary guidance. She will need a follow-up veterinary assessment tomorrow to continue monitoring her and adjust care as needed.

She will also need a foster tomorrow who can help rotate the puppies between nursing and bottle-feeding, including overnight, to give momma some relief while she continues her medication.

This is a time-sensitive foster need, and we are doing everything we can to keep momma and babies safe and comfortable. Please reach out if you have experience with nursing moms, bottle babies, or can provide supervised overnight care. Foster does not have to be a rescue but must live in Rowan County or a bordering county and be able to provide daily treatments and updates to the shelter.

Sacred has completely stolen our hearts here at the shelter. She is gentle, loving, and has shown us nothing but kindness during her time with us. We have seen no signs of aggression or behavioral concerns.

Because of a minor bite history Sacred must be pulled by a
501(c)(3) rescue organization.

A little more about Sacred:
• 45 lbs
• Heartworm positive (has been treated)
• Up to date on all vaccines
• Microchipped

We love this girl dearly and are hopeful that the right rescue will see just how wonderful she is. Please help us share Sacred’s story so she can get the second chance she deserves

Do you remember ZARIA ( the pittie mix) from the Memphis shelter? She was set to be euthanized that day, but they didn't have time. By the grace of God she was spared. THE PURRFECT PLACE HAD to save her then!! We LOVE getting updates on our PAST ADOPTED animals. She's a happy dog and has her BFF. We are FUREVER grateful for THE SMITH FAMILY for fostering her, then being smitten by her sweet demeanor and how smart she is, and could not have given her up. Fostering saves lives. Just look at ZARIA aka CINDY now. Could of been a different outcome, so please consider FOSTERING an animal. You won't regret it. Love, THE PURRFECT PLACE TEAM
