đźš’ From One Firehouse to Another đźš’

There’s something special about the brotherhood and sisterhood of the fire service. No matter where we come from, when the call comes, the answer is always the same: “I’ll be there.”

Today we had the pleasure of meeting Justin Shaulis, President of Union Fire Company No. 1 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Justin was vacationing nearby at Acadia National Park when he reached out and asked if he could stop by our firehouse—or, as we simply call it, “our house.”

We had never met before, and our departments are hundreds of miles apart, serving very different communities with different hazards. But it didn’t take long to realize how much common ground we share—from the challenges facing the fire service to the camaraderie, service, and sense of purpose that keep us coming back.

That’s one of the great things about the fire service: you can walk into a firehouse hundreds of miles from home as a stranger and leave as a friend.

Justin, it was great meeting you and talking shop. Thanks for taking some time out of your vacation to stop by Trenton!

And to our fellow firefighters—if you ever find yourself in our neck of the woods, reach out. You’re always welcome at our house. 🚒❤️

🏍️🔥 HAPPENING NOW — Central Maine Harley-Davidson Trenton’s Grand Opening! 🔥🏍️

The party is underway at the new Central Maine Harley-Davidson Trenton location, in the building many of us have known for years as the “Cheese House!” The building has been completely remodeled and repurposed, and tonight is their official Grand Opening/Open House!

Even better — proceeds from tonight’s food sales benefit the Trenton Volunteer Fire Department! 🚒❤️

We have six people from the TVFD family on hand cooking and helping out tonight — come say hello!

🍔 Cheeseburger meal — $15
🌭 2 Hot Dog meal — $10
🦞 Lobster Roll meal — $20

Meals include chips and a drink — cash only.
Come check out the new store, grab some food, browse the Harley apparel, and support Trenton Fire at the same time!

We were so happy to welcome the Stanley Subaru team to the station and even happier to receive their generous donation! ❤️🚒

A huge thank you to everyone who rounded up their purchases in July and helped make this possible. These funds will go toward purchasing rescue tools and equipment to help us continue providing vital emergency services to our community.

Pictured with the Stanley Subaru team are Lt. Rachel Malcolm and Retired Deputy Chief Kevin Hallett.

We truly appreciate Stanley Subaru and their customers for supporting the Trenton Trenton Volunteer Fire Department - Maine! ❤️

We made a quick stop at the Trenton Vol. Fire Dept. today, and we weren’t planning on showing up empty-handed.

We were excited to deliver their check from July’s Round Up for Change program. Thanks to all of our customers who rounded up their purchases or added a little extra to their total, we were able to put those small contributions toward a great local cause.

We’re always happy to have an excuse to stop by and say hello, but it's even better when we get to bring a check with us!

Thank you to everyone who rounded up in July, and to the Trenton Volunteer Fire Department for everything you do for our community!

🚒 Ever wonder how we make sure that when we arrive at a fire, our engines are ready to put the “wet stuff on the red stuff”? 🔥💦

Today, K&T Fire Equipment is at the Trenton Volunteer Fire Department putting our apparatus through their annual pump testing.

Our pumps are a critical part of getting water where it needs to go when we’re faced with a fire. Testing ensures they’re operating properly and performing to the standards we expect—because when we pull up to an emergency, there’s no time to find out whether everything works!

A big thank you to K&T Fire Equipment for helping us keep our apparatus ready to respond when our community needs us.

Not every call we respond to has a happy ending. Some involve significant damage, difficult circumstances, and people facing a very different day than they had planned.

But every once in a while, there's a little silver lining.

After we had extinguished the RV fire at Narrows Too Campground a couple of weeks ago and were cleaning up our equipment, we noticed a little boy standing off to the side, watching the firefighters. He was dressed in his own little set of bunker gear and clearly fascinated by what was happening.

We asked him to go get his parent, and what started as a curious little observer turned into a pretty special moment. We gave him the opportunity to hold our hose nozzle, get some pictures with our firefighters, and see a little bit of what happens after the fire is out.

Chief Heckman, Lt. Rory Cole, and DC Malcolm joined him for photos, along with his siblings and friends who were also camping at Narrows Too with their families.

The fire itself was certainly not something anyone wanted to experience during their vacation. But seeing the excitement on these kids' faces was a pretty great reminder of why we do what we do.

Firefighting isn't always about the fire. Sometimes it's about the people we meet along the way, the example we set for the next generation, and finding a little bit of good in an otherwise difficult day.

We're glad we could turn a tough situation into a memory these kids will hopefully remember for a long time. ❤️‍🔥🚒

Today, the Trenton Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the Narrows Too Campground for a reported RV fire. Dispatch received multiple calls reporting an RV on fire, so Trenton immediately called upon our mutual aid partners from Ellsworth, Lamoine, and Hancock Fire Departments to assist.

Upon arrival, crews quickly determined that the incident was not an RV fire, but a brush fire caused by improperly discarded campfire materials.

Thankfully, the fire was contained before it could spread to the nearby RVs and structures. This incident is another reminder that campfire materials can remain hot enough to start a fire even after a campfire appears to be out. Please make sure all campfires are completely extinguished with plenty of water and that ashes and other campfire materials are disposed of safely.

We appreciate our mutual aid partners for their quick response and continued teamwork. We are always here to help—when in doubt, call 911.
