My Family

My family is as great, as great, great can be
My family is the whole of humanity.
There used to be war, but then we got smart,
From sharing our pain to sharing our heart.
We used to be hateful, and angry, and mean
But the Act of Kindness has altered the scene.
Love, it came calling, from on top of the mount
And we stood up decided, to make this life count.
We chose to make clean the oceans and rivers,
We stopped being mean, we all became givers.
We cared for the critters, both big and small,
We Stood up and cheered WE ARE ONE, WE ARE ALL!
Because life's a gift, one meant to be shared,
Chose your own path, one where no one has dared.
Be unique and envision a much better place,
Oh the story and history of our human race!
It is filled with great things and miraculous deeds
Of working together and sowing the seeds,
To grow and to thrive in all our glory
That is the moral of this simple story.
So maybe they've left, your mom or your dad,
maybe your sister or brother, how sad.
But no need to cry, wipe your eyes and you'll see,
Our future, our family, is our Humanity.
