🍎 October is National Apple Month!
All month long, the National Grange is celebrating one of America’s favorite fruits and the farmers, orchards, traditions, and communities behind it.
From fresh-picked apples and c***r to pies, sauces, and treasured family recipes, apples are a familiar reminder of how closely our everyday lives are connected to agriculture.
Follow along each Monday in October as we take a bite out of the story of the apple, from orchard to table.

Twenty-five years ago, on September 11, 2001, our nation experienced a day of unimaginable loss that forever changed America.

On this day, the 25th anniversary of the attacks, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, honor the courage of the first responders and everyday citizens who rushed to help, and reflect on the strength and unity shown by communities across our country in the days that followed.

We still remember. We still honor. And we remain grateful for all those who served, sacrificed, and helped our nation heal.

Never forget.

"My Brothers and Sisters, all honest labor is honorable." - Vice President, Third Degree

Those words from our Grange Ritual are just as meaningful today as when they were first spoken.

Today we celebrate everyone whose hard work keeps our communities moving forward: farmers, ranchers, teachers, healthcare workers, first responders, truck drivers, tradespeople, small business owners, parents, caregivers, volunteers, and so many others. Every job, when done cheerfully and with integrity, makes a difference.

The National Grange was founded on the belief that work has dignity, communities are strongest when we support one another, and every person deserves to have their contributions valued.

Here's to the hands that build, grow, teach, heal, create, and serve. Happy Labor Day from the National Grange!

National Grange President Christine Hamp has released her "Speak Like a 'CHAMP'" phrase for September. We hope Granges and Grange members will use these phrases in to encourage positive teamwork as you Grange.

Impact Partnerships

Impact Partnerships are collaborations intentionally designed to produce measurable, meaningful results for a community or organization. Unlike symbolic or superficial partnerships, impact partnerships are strategic, outcome-focused, and aligned with shared values and goals. They leverage the strengths of each partner - whether civic, nonprofit, agricultural, business, or governmental - to address needs, enhance capacity, and create sustainable change. For the Grange, impact partnerships expand our reach, accelerate progress, and demonstrate the powerful results that come from working together with purpose.

September is Hunger Action Month, a nationwide movement to raise awareness about food insecurity and inspire action in our communities.

For more than 150 years, Granges have stepped up to help neighbors in need. Today, through Project Sustenance, Granges across the country continue that tradition by supporting food banks and pantries, growing fresh produce, organizing community meals, stocking Little Free Pantries, and finding creative ways to ensure everyone has access to nutritious food.

Last year, reported that "food insecurity in America has reached its highest rate in over a decade, reaching over 47 million people facing hunger, including 14 million children."

This month, we'll share simple ways you can take action because ending hunger starts with all of us.

πŸ’š Action Challenge: Donate one nonperishable food item this week to your local food bank or pantry. Imagine the impact if every Grange member did the same!

πŸ’¬ Tell us: How does your Grange help fight hunger in your community?

Staying active doesn't always mean going to the gym. Some of the healthiest habits come from the small choices we make throughout the day.

Finding simple ways to move a little more can boost your energy, improve your mood, and benefit your overall health.

🚢 Wellness Tip: Look for one easy way to add more movement to your day. You could:
🟑 Park a little farther from the entrance.
🟑 Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
🟑 Stand up while taking a phone call.
🟑 Use a standing desk for part of the day.
🟑 Take a five-minute walk during your lunch break.

Small changes may seem insignificant on their own, but over time they can make a big difference.

πŸ’¬ What's your favorite simple way to sneak a little extra movement into your day?

πŸ₯• Farmers markets are about more than fresh food. They're places where people connect, learn, and build stronger communities.

Across the country, more than 31,000 volunteers help make farmers markets possible, while markets give consumers the opportunity to learn directly from the people who grow their food. That farmer-to-neighbor connection encourages more sustainable choices, supports conservation, and helps bridge the gap between rural and urban communities.

During National Farmers Market Week, take a few extra minutes to chat with a vendor. Ask how they grow their crops, what produce is in season, or how they prepare their favorite recipe. Those conversations help keep agriculture alive, one market day at a time.

🌱 What's something you've learned from talking with a farmer at a market?

National Grange President Christine Hamp has released her "Speak Like a 'CHAMP'" phrase for the month of August. We encourage all Granges and Grangers to use this phrase as we all Grange together.

STRATEGIC MOMENTUM

Strategic Momentum refers to the sustained forward movement created when people, plans, and actions are aligned toward a common goal. It is progress that builds on itself - where small steps accumulate into significant results. Maintaining strategic momentum requires focus, consistency, and disciplined ex*****on. When momentum grows, the organization advances rapidly and confidently.
