Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club

Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club has been around since the spring of 1982, making sure that the area trails have been signed and groomed to perfection.

We were one of the 1st clubs to use wheeled tractors to maintain snowmobile trails. Vice president S Snowmobile Club in Grand Traverse County responsible for the marked groomed trails in the area.

Sooooooo......We could really use your help for just one day. Just One Day! No playing in the dirt, no trimming trees, no chain saw work. Do we sound desperate enough??? Some of our normal volunteers are unable to help us out this year. GTASC is once again transporting bicycles for the Iceman Competition on Saturday, November 7th. We are in need of people to drive a small box truck as pictured. This is our main fundraiser for the club. If you can help us out please contact Kurt Bard at 231 392 2447, to volunteer and get more detailed information

And, there's more work to be done... this time it was Siler’s Stump Grinding that did all the work. Aaron and his crew grinded numerous stumps around our trail system for the safety of all. Here is a great example of a business that supports GTASC and the sport we all love. Thanks Siler Stump Grinding! Please remember to support those that support our sport. Don't take your foot off the gas just yet, there's work to be done! We contracted Earthworks Services to repair a corner on trail 5. The corner has been prone to erosion which caused severe banking and washout issues. Mike, the owner of Earthworks Services did an outstanding job softening the turn, making a drainage runoff and leveling out the effected area. I just wish I had some before pictures. If your looking for excavating services, please do not hesitate to give Mike a call!

This guy is still at it!!! In addition to brushing, grading, membership drives, DNR liaison and a number of other hats he wears. Our Polaris Ambassador Paul Anderson and his wife Andrea took on the project of upgrading all the information signage. Paul was out posting the new signs yesterday. The signs look great you two! Thanks for dedicating your time to the sport we all love!

Our last brushing event will be this Sunday, October 18th. Meet at the groomer barn, 7299 Carpenter Creek Rd. at 9:00 AM. We will be switching to signing at the next event. If your able, we sure could use your help. As usual, a trail lunch and refreshments will be provided. We hope to see you there.

We had 12 people turnout for the brushing event. Outstanding!! Thanks to Steve, Paul, Don, Mark, John, Pat, Shaun, Don, Chris, Craig and his son, and Kevin. Special thanks to the Northwest ORV Association for helping out! You guys rock! Thanks Steve for feeding the group a great trail side lunch. Again, thanks everyone for volunteering your time to our great sport.
