Holy Name of Mary Chapel Welcome to Holy Name of Mary Catholic Chapel broadcasting the love of Jesus and Mary from the Endless Mountains Region of Pennsylvania.

Holy Name of Mary Chapel is a diverse and affirming Old Catholic parish based in the Endless Mountains of Towanda, PA, and served by priests of the Society of Mercy. ✝️🙏📿🏳️‍🌈💕 We are a welcoming and inclusive parish in the Old Roman Catholic tradition and served by priests of the Society of Mercy. Our senior pastor is Father Daniel Storrs, MA, SSM, and our associate pastor is Father William Young, SSM. We warmly invite all of Mary's baptized children of goodwill who genuinely seek the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, sacramentally or spiritually, to participate faithfully in our Chapel community; regardless of race, nationality, age, gender or gender expression, sexuality, marital status, socioeconomic status, political affiliation, or other blessed diversities. What if you could sit down with the Blessed Virgin Mary and hear her tell the story of Jesus? ❤️🙏

Today, the Church celebrates the Feast of Saint Luke the Evangelist, a man whose Gospel gives us some of the most beautiful and beloved stories of our Christian faith.

An ancient Christian tradition tells us that Luke spent time with the Blessed Mother, listening as she shared her memories of Jesus. While we cannot know for certain whether this meeting took place, I find the image incredibly beautiful. Another beloved tradition even remembers Luke as the first person to paint an icon of Our Lady!

And how grateful we should be for the Gospel he left us! It is Luke who gives us the Annunciation, the Visitation, the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, the Good Samaritan, and the Prodigal Son.

But what I especially love about Saint Luke is his attention to those whom society so often overlooks. Women, the poor, the outcast, the forgotten, and those whom others have judged unworthy. Again and again, Luke reminds us that God’s mercy knows no boundaries!

It is also Luke who preserves Mary’s magnificent song of praise, the Magnificat, in which she proclaims a God who lifts up the lowly, fills the hungry with good things, and challenges the powerful.

What a beautiful reminder that the Gospel is not about building walls around God’s love, but about breaking down the barriers that keep people from experiencing it!

May Saint Luke inspire us to proclaim that same Good News, not only with our words, but through lives of compassion, inclusion, and mercy.

Who knew a few cookies and crayons could bring so much joy?! 🍪🖍️🤗

Following Mass on Sunday, our Holy Name of Mary Chapel family gathered for a cookie and coloring party! Young and old alike enjoyed sweet treats, colorful creations, wonderful conversations, and the simple joy of being together.

These are the moments that remind us that the Church is so much more than a building. It is a family where everyone, regardless of age, is welcomed, loved, and belongs!

Faith, fellowship, and a few sweet crumbs on our fingers! What a beautiful Sunday! ❤️⛪️🙌

A church filled with the sounds of children is a church filled with life! ❤️⛪️

What a beautiful Sunday at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Chapel! There are few sounds more pleasing to the ears of God than the voices of children during Mass. 🙏

Today, our chapel was filled with the joy of community as we gathered to break bread, lift our voices in song, share God’s peace, and celebrate the love of Christ.

We are so grateful for every person who joined us today, from the youngest to the oldest. There is a place for everyone at God’s table! ❤️🙌
