TONIGHT!! 🩵💙🩵We have our monthly meeting May 21 at 7:00 PM in the Emergency Operations center to focus on our upcoming Multi-Agency Resource Center training.

A Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) is an essential, central location for disaster relief, allowing multiple organizations and agencies to provide access to resources and support to those in need. In many cases, it's a one-stop-shop that provides those affected by a disaster with the convenience of having multiple service agencies available in a single location.

🍕🍕🍕FREE PIZZA will be provided at the MARC on June 8!

We recently heard from Ms. Cara Lee, a homeschool instructor, whose student Sohana shared an insightful article on how climate change contributes to increasing wildfire disasters. Sohana discovered this research during a class discussion and wanted to contribute it to our community resources. We love seeing our local students engaging with critical topics like wildfire awareness and disaster preparedness!

📖 Check out the article Sohana recommended: How Climate Change Fuels Increasing Wildfire Disasters

We are so proud of the initiative shown by the next generation in keeping Tooele County informed and ready. Thank you, Ms. Lee and Sohana, for your hard work!

🚨 Upcoming Opportunity – June 8, Stansbury Junior High

We have an exciting opportunity coming up and you can participate in three different ways as part of our MARC (Multi-Agency Resource Center) training.

A MARC is a central hub used during disasters where individuals can come to access resources and support from multiple organizations in one place.

Ways to Help:

🙋‍♂️1. Become a MARC Volunteer
Help behind the scenes by assisting with operations and supporting individuals who come in for help.
We’ve already completed the first training (April 16), and the final training will be held on May 21.
To prepare, please review the video below so you understand how a MARC operates. THIS IS IMPORTANT especially if you missed the meeting on 4/16.

🤝2. Act as a “Client” (Resource Seeker)
We need volunteers to go through the process as if they are seeking help. This allows us to test our systems and improve before a real disaster occurs.

📣3. Help Us Spread the Word
Word of mouth is powerful, and we need your help to grow. Invite friends, family, neighbors, or anyone who may be interested in volunteering or supporting disaster response efforts. The more people involved, the stronger our community becomes.
