It was a hot one but it was a great one!

We had 6 of our families join us for the parade: Miss T, Kristen, Ali, Andy, Lexi and David! We sang, we laughed, we danced, we loved! Missing the rest of the Hope Beyond 21 families but hoping next year we can all be together! 🙂

We had the gang from Aurora's Guiding Light Foundation join us as well, which is incredibly important to all of us as both of our organizations are about inclusion, spreading awareness and defying the odds.

What an amazing day yesterday celebrating America’s 250th birthday ♥️🤍💙

I have an abundance of photos to share from our float yesterday, but this one deserves its own post.

Veronica DiMaggio had contacted us about taking photos for future events if we ever needed/wanted professional photos taken and yesterday we happened to end up standing in front of her for awhile waiting for the flyover, so she took some candid photos of our crew, and this one by far takes the prize for being the best one.

I don’t think I could ever explain the amount of pride and happiness I felt yesterday. We had 6 of our Chromie Homies join us for the parade, and my heart was overflowing with love literally all day.

Our entire float had so much love coming towards us yesterday it was amazing. One specific moment from the parade that brought tears to my eyes and shivers down my spine, was when we came around one of the corners and EVERYONE was standing, clapping, and yelling for our float, cheering all of us on and the pure joy on all of our faces was at that moment, my “We did it” moment. This journey has been absolutely incredible so far, and we aren’t even 6 months in. The friendships we are all building, the life lessons we’re learning, and the memories we are making is something I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.

Starting a nonprofit has been nothing short of easy as far as the logistics go, and at times I’ve questioned myself if we can truly help these families in the ways I want to, or if the goals we have set for this organization are achievable…but then moments like yesterday, where our Chromie Homies and their families were LOVED, applauded, and showcased as the amazing and beautiful people they are, reminded me that no matter what doubts or worries I may have, they will never surpass the amount of greatness we WILL achieve together.

I know I have said this so many times about how I can’t wait to see this grow, but I truthfully cannot wait to continue to grow together with our current Chromie Crews and any future relationships we have yet to build.

Every year since her passing, Tammy Lundberg’s family has done a golf outing in her memory. Each year, they choose a different organization to donate the proceeds to that they feel would align with Tammy’s legacy and the ones she would be there to support if she were still here today.

This year, her mom Cheryl, and her two sisters Amy Swanson Gebauer, Michelle Swanson VanderWyst and Andy VanderWyst chose Hope Beyond 21. Since the very beginning, this family has supported everything we’ve planned, they have attended our events, and they have been cheering us on in every direction we go.

Tonight, they presented us with a $2,000 donation that will go towards making our mission bigger, and our future as an organization brighter.

This year their event happened to fall on the same day as our volleyball tournament, so we were unable to participate, but we most definitely plan on attending next year!

Thank you, so very much to you all for this incredible donation. We are forever grateful!
