This wonderful donation allows us to continue providing a safe and fun experience for our students to enjoy a lifetime activity in our beautiful Northwoods!đź‘Źđź‘Ź

Aspirus Tomahawk Offering 'Produce Prescriptions' for Farmer's Markets

A unique program is being brought to Aspirus in Tomahawk that will see patients getting prescriptions filled at farmer's markets rather than pharmacies.

Aspirus has launched another year of their Fruit and Vegetable Prescription (FVRx) Program which helps provide patients with access to fresh produce via vouchers. Recipients are selected based on economic or medical need.

The prescription vouchers can be used at participating farmer's markets which now includes the weekly Tomahawk Main Street Markets.

Danielle Polega is a nurse practitioner at Aspirus Tomahawk Clinic. She notes, "Summer is the perfect time to give canned and frozen produce a break – to give our bodies and minds a healthy boost with some fresh fruits and veggies." She added, "As a bonus, buying them at a farmers market is a fantastic opportunity to support our local farmers."

Aspirus has offered their produce prescriptions for a number of years now and they continue to expand the program to other communities in the area.

Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital Foundation was excited to get to be a part of the first ever Tomahawk Bike Rodeo.

What a beautiful day to promote bike safety and fitness; there were 47 kids who registered and participated in the Rodeo. Kids all received a certificate of completion, a goody bag, treats, as well as the opportunity to receive a refurbished bike and new bike helmet if needed. They all were also entered for a chance to win a brand new bicycle. A fun time was had by all.

A huge shout out to all the sponsors, donors, committee members and volunteers who helped make this event possible.

We are looking forward to the Tomahawk Bike Rodeo 2023!!!

Thank you to Cerny's Greenhouse of Tomahawk for the very, very special day at Ascension Sacred HeartHospital in Tomahawk yesterday. Your gift of a beautiful poinsettia for each and every caregiver in the hospital made a very big impact and spread love throughout the building and into our homes. Thank you so much.
