Treehaven is a natural resources education center and conference facility located in Wisconsin's Northwoods.

As part of the UWSP College of Natural Resources, we aim to connect learners of all ages to the natural world! Treehaven is owned and operated by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point College of Natural Resources (CNR) and is home to the CNR's signature Summer Field Experience where students gain hands on real-world experience during a six-week session at our facility. TRAIL CLOSURE: Please read for important information regarding Treehaven trails this weekend.

We are planning to conduct prescribed burns at Treehaven from Friday, May 1 through Sunday, May 3. For everyone's safety, all Treehaven trails will be CLOSED during this time. Firefighters will be working in the area until the burn is out. A prescribed burn plan has been developed that contains sufficient control measures to ensure firefighter and public safety. Those close to Treehaven may notice smoke during the burn.

Trails will reopen to the public on Monday, May 4.

TRAIL CLOSURE: Please read below for important information if planning on using Treehaven's trails this week.

With the exception of the Spring Hike session scheduled for 3/21, all Treehaven trails will be CLOSED to the public from March 19-22, 2026. Trails will reopen on Monday, March 23. We thank you for your understanding!

‼️ ATTENTION all guests registered for Dinner and a Speaker tomorrow, March 3 and the Wildlife Wednesday owl program that was rescheduled to March 4: Be cautious of icy roads and walkways ❄️‼️

Due to the warmer weather and melting snow, our roads, parking lots, and grounds have patches of very slick ice in shady areas. Please be aware of the icy conditions and exercise caution upon your arrival for these event(s). The curved stretch of road immediately before reaching Treehaven is particularly icy and hazardous to drivers currently, and we recommend going very slowly around these curves as you pull into our parking lot. Please also watch your step when walking towards the building from the parking lot.

Through this position, you will develop and implement stewardship, land management, outreach, and academic activities and research that promote and enhance conservation of the Treehaven property. What a great night of spooky fun at the Tomahawk School Forest! A huge thank you to all who stopped by Treehaven's Environmental Education Station to explore Northwoods ecology with naturalist Fox and THS Science Club volunteers, AND to everyone that helped make the 2nd Halloween Luminary Trail a success!
