⭐ Unison Star Recognition: Kaitlyn Deselms ⭐

Every great team has someone who helps others shine, and for the Substance Use Disorder Services team, that person is Kaitlyn Deselms, Lead SUD Clinician.

Kaitlyn was nominated by Pam Hines-Dunn for her unwavering commitment to clients, her support of fellow staff, and the leadership she brings to the Jefferson team each day. Whether she is helping a client navigate challenges, training and mentoring team members, or collaborating with community partners, Kaitlyn leads with compassion, positivity, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

One of the qualities that stands out most is Kaitlyn's willingness to help. When a new referral comes in, her response is often simple: "Bring them in." That mindset reflects her dedication to ensuring individuals have access to the care and support they need.

Kaitlyn also fosters a culture of collaboration by listening to clients, encouraging creative problem-solving, and remaining open to new ideas. Her positive relationships with community partners help strengthen connections and expand opportunities for those seeking recovery and support.

Thank you, Kaitlyn, for leading by example and for the difference you make in the lives of clients, coworkers, and our community every day. ⭐

Is it okay to ask someone if they’re having thoughts about su***de?

April White explains why asking the question directly could help save a life, and why having the conversation matters more than staying silent.

This Memorial Day, we honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans, but we also remember the importance of supporting those who may be silently struggling.

Behind the strength and courage, many veterans face mental health challenges that often go unseen. One conversation, one question, and one moment of support could help save a life.

If someone needs help immediately, call or text the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline at 988.
