🏆 Exciting news for Dani's Place!

We're proud to share that NAC Architecture NAC received three awards recognizing the design of Dani's Place. What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it celebrates more than a building. It recognizes a thoughtfully designed environment created to support healing, dignity, autonomy, and long-term recovery.

Recently, Silvia Snyder, Deputy Director of Dani's Place, joined behavioral health and design leaders to share lessons learned from creating and operating spaces that truly support recovery. The recognition highlights the power of intentional design and the importance of environments that help people feel safe, supported, and empowered on their journey.

🌍 Today is World Mental Health Day

Let’s make sure every young person knows help is just one call away.

Ohio’s Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) is available statewide — a free program for children, teens, and young adults (up to age 20) experiencing a mental health crisis or emotional distress.

📞 Call 988 and ask for MRSS — a trained crisis team will come directly to the youth wherever they are: at home, school, or in the community.

💚 This World Mental Health Day, let’s raise awareness, fight stigma, and make sure families know where to turn.

A youth mental health crisis doesn’t always mean the ER.

MRSS provides free, 24/7 support for youth through age 20 experiencing emotional distress or crisis.

When families call 988 and ask for MRSS, a trained crisis team can come to support the youth where they are, helping stabilize the situation and plan next steps.

This weekend, we were honored to stand alongside our community at the Out of the Darkness Walk.

As a sponsor of this important event, the Unison Health team had the opportunity to connect with attendees, share resources, and support a cause that impacts so many individuals and families. We were also joined by Gus, Unison’s honorary mascot, who spent the day making new friends and spreading plenty of smiles. 🐾

Thank you to the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention for bringing people together in support of hope, healing, and awareness. Conversations save lives, and events like these remind us that no one has to face life's challenges alone.

💙 Mental Health for All.

This weekend, Unison Health was proud to participate in NAMIWalks Four County OH, joining community members, advocates, families, and supporters in raising awareness and support for mental health services and education.

A special thank you to our staff from OhioRISE, IHBT, and MRSS who spent the day sharing resources, answering questions, and connecting individuals and families with support available throughout our community.

Mental health affects us all, and events like NAMIWalks remind us of the power of coming together, reducing stigma, and ensuring no one has to navigate challenges alone.

Thank you to everyone who walked, volunteered, donated, and helped advance the message that mental health matters.

🌟 Unison STAR Spotlight: Allicia Lawrence 🌟

At Unison Health, some individuals make an impact not only through the care they provide, but through the way they uplift everyone around them. Today, we are proud to recognize Allicia Lawrence, IHBT Therapist, as a Unison STAR.

For youth and families receiving services, Allicia is a source of support, encouragement, and hope. Her nominator shared that families often express amazement at the meaningful progress their children achieve while working with her. Through her dedication, compassion, and clinical expertise, Allicia helps families navigate challenges while building the confidence and skills needed for lasting success.

What truly sets Allicia apart is her commitment to people. Whether she is supporting clients, mentoring new staff, or helping a teammate navigate a difficult situation, she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure others feel supported and valued.

One example of that commitment was her creation of a "Safety Buddy" system to help ensure staff members have someone checking in with them when working late. This thoughtful initiative reflects her concern not only for client well-being, but also for the safety and support of her colleagues.

Allicia's approachable nature, compassion, and commitment to trauma-informed care help create meaningful connections with both clients and coworkers. She consistently demonstrates the principles of the Sanctuary Model through her focus on safety, support, and community, helping foster an environment where people can grow and thrive.

Thank You Thursday: Daniel Rodgers

For this week’s Thank You Thursday, we’re recognizing Daniel Rodgers, Assertive Community Treatment Peer Support Specialist, for his dedication to helping clients build stability, independence, and hope.

Daniel is known for consistently showing up for the people he serves. He builds rapport without judgment, remains patient through difficult circumstances, and does not give up when someone’s path forward is challenging.

One client supported by Daniel and the Assertive Community Treatment team was experiencing significant barriers involving housing, physical and mental health, substance use, hospitalization, and the legal system. Although others had struggled to reach the client, Daniel continued building trust, helping meet basic needs, and encouraging social connection.

With support from Daniel and the full team, the client has made meaningful progress. The client is now living in a supportive setting, engaging more consistently in medical care, taking greater responsibility for personal needs, and independently reaching out for help with medications, appointments, community resources, and other areas of recovery. The client has also become more socially connected and interested in new community opportunities.

This progress reflects the power of persistence, trust, and compassionate support. Daniel’s experience and commitment helped empower the client to recognize that positive choices and self-advocacy can create a different path forward.
