A follower sent us this dashcam video from TX-34 at FM 2728, heading north from Kaufman toward Terrell.

Watch the silver SUV pull across the highway as the dashcam vehicle approaches the intersection at highway speed. Thankfully, this one ended without a collision.

We’re digging into the crash history around this intersection to see what the numbers actually show.

If you drive this stretch regularly, what have you noticed here — and are close calls like this common?

A 24-year-old Terrell man has died after being struck by a vehicle on Dixon Street late Saturday night, according to Terrell police.

Police identified him as Julio Cesar Rodriguez, of Terrell.

The department says it received multiple 911 calls around 11:57 p.m. Saturday, October 3, reporting that a pedestrian had been hit in the 400 block of Dixon Street.

Terrell police officers and firefighters responded. CareFlite transported Rodriguez by ground ambulance to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Forney, where he later died from his injuries. Police say his next of kin has been notified.

The crash remains under investigation. The department’s release does not provide details about the driver or what led to the collision.

Our thoughts are with Julio’s family, friends, and everyone who loved him.

Terrell is trading a liquor store for a coffee shop. ☕

7 Brew Coffee is coming to Terrell, with plans for the former Bottle Shop property at 1413 W. Moore Ave.

The drive-thru coffee chain serves coffee, energy drinks, teas, smoothies and more, and this would give one of Moore Avenue’s longtime commercial corners a pretty noticeable makeover.

We made these concept renderings to show what a typical 7 Brew could look like on the property. These are not official site plans or the final building design.

So Terrell — good trade? 👀

🔥 KAUFMAN COUNTY BURN BAN LIFTED
Oct. 4th 2026
The Kaufman County burn ban has been lifted.

The ban had been in effect since August 11, 2026, when Kaufman County prohibited outdoor burning for up to 90 days or until conditions improved.

After nearly eight weeks, legal outdoor burning may resume where otherwise permitted.

⚠️ A lifted burn ban does not mean anything can be burned anywhere. Normal Texas outdoor-burning regulations still apply, and cities within Kaufman County may have their own restrictions. High winds or Red Flag conditions can also temporarily prevent outdoor burning.

Please use common sense, keep water nearby and never leave a fire unattended.

Know somebody who’s been waiting to clean up a brush pile? They’ll probably be glad to hear this one. 🔥

Terrell’s old Waffle House may finally be headed for its next chapter. 👀

A PROPERTY FOR SALE sign is now up at the former Waffle House at 1902 W. Moore Ave., a building that’s been sitting empty for years.

While it has only been boarded up and still owned by Waffle House since its closure around 2020, it appears they have finally decided to officially liquidate the property.

What would actually be a good fit for this property today?

TERRELL, Texas — The city of Terrell is warning residents after receiving multiple reports of people going door-to-door falsely claiming to be city employees.

In a social media post, city officials said the individuals are reportedly working in groups of three and targeting elderly residents. They’re attempting to sell water filtration systems, the post said.

Anyone who receives one of these knocks at the door is advised to call the Terrell Police Department immediately at 469-474-2700.

The city reminded residents that legitimate city employees who need to contact someone at their home will carry proper identification and arrive in a city-marked vehicle.
