Golf For COPS

Golf For COPS The McDavid Group Charities brings you the annual Golf For COPS Charity Golf Tournament supporting the families of fallen law enforcement.

Everyday our law enforcement officers wake up, say goodbye to their families, and head to work not knowing whether or not they will return home. They put everything on the line every time they clock in. Today the risk is higher than ever, yet without complaining, these brave men and women put on a badge and protect our way of life. Many of our brothers and sisters in blue have made the ultimate sa

crifice, giving their life to protect and uphold the law, so that you and I, and our families can rest safely. They are more than just police officers; they are husbands and wives, fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, and family and friends. The effect on a family when an officer loses his life is catastrophic. There is the emotional devastation to the family, not to mention the massive financial burden. My goal is to raise money for these brave families and provide the much needed emotional and financial support. Please join me in this powerful cause and let the families of our fallen officers know that they are not alone, that their sacrifice will not be forgotten, and that they will not be forgotten.

Earlier this year, more than 40 law enforcement officers from Jupiter, Tequesta, and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office gathered with us for our second annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Breakfast.

Among those who joined us was longtime Golf for COPS partner Vince Papale, who reminded the room that the impact we make today changes the lives of those around us. Along with that impact, his words revolved around the responsibility we all share: to recognize the sacrifice made by those who serve, to care for the families who bear its greatest cost, and to never forget those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

As we look toward December, we carry that reminder with us, both now and in every year, day, hour, and minute to come.

An idea may begin with one person, but a mission lasts only when others choose to make it their own.

As Golf for COPS began to take shape, those people arrived one by one. Tanya, Christine, Wes, and Falon each found their place within The McDavid Group Charities, joining the countless others who have given their time, effort, and energy to its work. Together, they transformed a worthy cause into a shared commitment, one sustained by purpose, strengthened through relationships, and carried forward by people deeply invested in its impact.

This June, Golf for COPS traveled beyond South Florida for the first time, and our mission was welcomed with a generosity we will not soon forget.

From the rooftop of The Strathallan to the eighteen holes of Oak Hill’s East Course to the fireworks that closed the Stars and Stripes Gala, the weekend was filled with truly incredible moments. And yet, perhaps more importantly, it brought together people who believe, as we do, that the families of fallen law enforcement officers should never have to carry their loss alone.

To every golfer, guest, sponsor, volunteer, and member of the Rochester community who stood beside not only us, but the these families, thank you. Golf for COPS - Oak Hill exceeded our every expectation, and it was our privilege to share the weekend with each of you.

Ten years ago today, five officers in Dallas gave their lives in the line of duty. We remember each of them by name: Sergeant Michael Smith, Senior Corporal Lorne Ahrens, Officer Michael Krol, Officer Patrick Zamarripa, and DART Officer Brent Thompson.

This is the moment Golf for COPS began. In the days that followed, Jim McDavid heard a widow speak on the radio, and her words stayed with him in a way he could not set aside. What he felt in that moment became the work we carry forward still: to stand beside the families of fallen officers, to honor the ones they have lost, and to see that their sacrifice is never forgotten.

Behind each of these five was a family who loved them and a community that relied on them, and the absence they left behind is felt as deeply now as it was that day. We hold them in our hearts today, and in every year that follows.

As we mark Independence Day, we hold close the men and women who gave everything in service to the communities they swore to protect. The freedoms we celebrate this weekend were kept safe by those who ran toward danger, and by the families who continue to carry their memory forward.

From all of us at Golf for COPS, we wish you a safe and happy Fourth of July!

Oak Hill has welcomed the U.S. Open, the PGA Championship, the Ryder Cup. This weekend, it welcomes Golf for COPS, for our first tournament beyond South Florida, on a course that has shaped the game for nearly a century.

The weekend begins Sunday evening, on the rooftop at The Strathallan, where you will have the chance to connect with fellow guests and settle into what lies ahead. Monday morning picks up with brunch before a ceremony worthy of the setting, featuring a New York State Police Honor Guard, the national anthem performed by Dave Bray USA, and the Gates Keystone Pipes & Drums Band leading into a noon shotgun start across eighteen holes of on-course activations and competitions.

When the round wraps, the Oak Hill locker rooms are yours. Walk the halls where legends have walked, change into your evening attire, and step into the Stars & Stripes Gala. The evening opens with cocktails and a Kerr Cellars wine tasting before giving way to dinner, a live auction, and a keynote from Adam Davis. The night closes the way a celebration at Oak Hill should, with fireworks over the East Course.

Every foursome on the course and every seat at the table supports the families of fallen law enforcement officers, and we cannot wait to see you there.
