🌿 INSPIRING: Jupiter mangrove islands get new life in heartfelt restoration project

Three eroded mangrove islands in Jupiter Narrows are being restored through a meaningful project that honors the memory of Andrew "Red" Harris, who was tragically killed in a boating accident in 2014.

"I remember them as a kid when they were just so lush and so beautiful. And if we don't do something now, they'll be gone," said Sue Panella of the Jupiter Narrows Conservation Alliance.

Today we had the honor to host a press event for the restoration of the Andrew “Red” Harris Islands. Countless people have given so much of their time and effort to see these islands restored. We are just getting started and cannot wait to take you along on the rest of the journey!

It was an honor and privilege to be in DC with Ocean Conservancy, J.P. Brooker, and many conservation partners to advocate for our environment and wildlife and full funding for NOAA.

🌎 Good Earth Day news! 👏

Today, Ocean Conservancy staff headed to Capitol Hill to speak with Florida members of Congress about the vital work of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in the Sunshine State. We also discussed the Endangered Species Amendment Act and the extreme dangers it would pose to Florida’s most at-risk animals, plants and habitats.

The Endangered Species Amendment Act was supposed to be voted on this afternoon, but was pulled from the House floor at the last minute.
