☀️ A Little Sunshine from Amy’s House 💚

There’s always something happening behind our charcoal front door—coffee brewing, meals being shared, laughter from the kitchen, and new friendships forming between people who may have been strangers just days before.

Medical journeys can be hard, but Amy’s House gets to be one of the bright spots along the way. 🏡💚

Today, we’re simply grateful for a full house, good conversations, and the opportunity to make Temple feel a little more like home for the families staying with us.

Here’s to finding the good in an ordinary day. ☀️

☀️ The Texas heat is relentless—but so are the families we serve. 💙

While most of us are counting down the days until cooler weather, the families at Amy’s House are counting appointments, treatments, lab results, and days away from home.

For someone traveling to Temple for cancer treatment or transplant care, having a cool, safe place to come home to at the end of a long day means more than we sometimes realize.

At Amy’s House, our guests can step out of the Texas heat, grab a cold bottle of water, find something to eat, put their feet up, and simply rest.

And we’re able to provide that comfort because of you.

Every case of water donated. Every meal provided. Every utility bill helped with. Every gift—large or small—helps us keep our doors open and our house comfortable for families going through some of the hardest days of their lives.

☀️ The Texas sun may be hot, but the heart of our community is even warmer.

Thank you for helping us take care of the people who walk through our charcoal front door. 💙

**Sometimes help arrives at exactly the right moment. 💙**

I often say that **Amy’s House is just a moment in time.**

Families come through our charcoal front door during some of the hardest days of their lives. We walk beside them for a while, and eventually they go home—but they don’t leave our hearts.

Recently, one of our former families had been on my mind. We knew they were struggling financially. What we didn’t know was that while traveling to Temple for medical care, a warning light came on in their truck and they learned they could be facing an expensive repair.

**We knew nothing about the truck.**

At almost exactly the same time, our friends at **Compassionate Touch** provided funding that allowed us to offer this family some unexpected assistance.

Later, they thanked us for being part of a blessing to their family.

It was one of those moments that reminds us why community matters so much.

Last week, we welcomed a new leukemia patient who is hours from home. He told us Amy’s House has been **“a godsend.”** His family didn’t know how they could afford an extended hotel stay or an apartment in Temple while he receives treatment.

Stories like his are why we are so grateful for the people and organizations who stand behind Amy’s House.

The **VFW** helped stock our new sack-lunch program. The **American Legion** continues to help families with emergency expenses. **Walmart Transportation** provides water and needed supplies. **AKA** helps keep our coffee bar, guest-room snacks and pantry stocked. **H-E-B** helps us provide easy meals for guests after long days at the hospital. And a generous friend in Georgetown recently helped us keep groceries in the house.

A meal. A cup of coffee. A sack lunch. Help with an unexpected bill. **A safe place to sleep.**

Small things can mean everything when you're far from home facing cancer, transplantation or another medical crisis.

To everyone who supports Amy’s House—**thank you.**

You are helping us keep our charcoal front door open for the next family who arrives wondering:

**“How are we going to do this?”** 💙

💙 A House Built on Hope 💙

Every room at Amy's House tells a different story.

Some families arrive filled with hope as they await a life-changing transplant. Others come while facing the uncertainty of cancer treatment. Every guest walks through our doors carrying a burden that most people never see.

While we can't change a diagnosis, we can provide something just as important—a safe, comfortable place to call home during one of life's most difficult journeys.

Because of the generosity of our community, families have a warm bed to sleep in, a kitchen to prepare a meal, a place to rest between long days at the hospital, and the comfort of knowing they are not alone.

Thank you to every donor, volunteer, supporter, and friend who makes this possible. Your kindness becomes hope for families when they need it most.

Together, we're not just providing lodging...
❤️ We're providing comfort, compassion, and a home away from home.

💚 A Legacy That Lives On 💚

Thirteen years ago, Amy made the selfless decision to become an organ donor. Her gift of life has continued to touch countless hearts—including her own family's.

Recently, KWTX shared the beautiful story of Amy's son, Matthew, and his bride, Lizzie. During their wedding reception, Matthew shared the traditional mother-son dance with Carrie Giddens, the woman who has been living with Amy's lungs for the past 13 years.

It was a powerful reminder that while Amy could not be there in person, her legacy was.

Amy's House was founded in Amy's memory to provide hope, comfort, and a home away from home for transplant patients, cancer patients, and their families. Stories like this remind us that the gift of organ donation reaches far beyond the operating room—it creates connections that last a lifetime.

We are grateful to KWTX for sharing this incredible story and helping spread awareness about the lifesaving impact of organ donation.

💚 Because of one "yes," Amy's legacy continues to bring hope, healing, and love to others every single day.
