We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We’d like to start the week with a reminder of what community support can make possible!

Our St. Joseph’s Helpers Kentucky team had installed a ramp last month for a client with mobility challenges. This ramp gave him a safer way to leave his home whenever he needed.

You can help us bring more projects like this to life! Vote for St. Joseph’s Helpers in the Solomon Detroit Give A Chance GAC . Vote once a day through October 31st. No registration required!

https://www.solomongiveachance.org/detroit-give-a-chance-voting

Every vote gives us another chance to win funding for the materials and supplies needed like these ramps. Please vote, share with friends and family, and help us spread the word!

It may be overcast outside today, but we’re throwing it back to a sunnier day! Here are St. Joseph’s Helpers field volunteers taking a well-deserved break during a summer ramp installation. Tired, but at least they got to enjoy some beautiful weather!

We'd love to continue helping more folks in need. If you'd like to help, but can't donate financially, you can vote for us in the Solomon Detroit Give A Chance GAC once a day, every day until October 31st!

Congratulations to our St. Joseph’s Helpers Volunteers of the Quarter, Carolann and Paul!

Carolann is the friendly voice clients hear when they reach out to St. Joseph’s Helpers. She handles client requests with a welcoming spirit and great compassion! She has a special gift for helping people feel heard, comforted, and cared for. It’s no surprise that Carolann can juggle all her responsibilities while brightening a room and turning frowns upside down!

Paul has been a steady, knowledgeable presence in the field, mentoring AmeriCorps NCCC student volunteers through many home-repairs during our partnership. He continues to tackle the projects that remain, including those delayed by weather and other challenges. His dedication, practical know-how, and commitment to helping as many neighbors as possible make him an invaluable part of our team!

Carolann and Paul serve in different ways, but both share the same heart for helping others. We are grateful for them and all they bring to sjhelpers.org and the neighbors we serve. Please join us in celebrating these two outstanding volunteers!

Several of our St Joseph's Helpers volunteers built 100 beds for kids in need this past Saturday during the Sleep in Heavenly Peace - MI, Western Wayne County Bed Build! The event took place at the CCSEM Center for the Works of Mercy in Detroit!

Now, volunteers are needed to help deliver the beds that were built. Visit the Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan page to learn how to help.

Thank you to Joe, Marcel, and all the wonderful, hardworking SJhelpers.org volunteers who helped with the build!

Some of the most common needs are grab bars and railings to help with stability. St Joseph's Helpers has installed hundreds of them, but we have an ongoing list of requests to work on.
