Newest Update from Isenhower’s Family:

The surgeon called around 3:15.

He still has his urinary, catheter in place for sanitation reasons. He is eating normally. Still not willing to get up on his own. But will take a few steps after he is picked up.

He is being loved on by all the staff.

He will remain in their care another night.

We have been informed of the amount of rehabilitation he will require in the next few months.

………

We are still collecting donations to help with the bill that’s accumulating while he’s still hospitalized, donations can be made here:

Update from Isenhower’s family:

Isenhower did well over night. The Dr is going to wean him off IV pain meds this morning. They mentioned him not wanting to get up on his own. But he is tolerating all the poking, exams, and maneuvering around they've done with him over night. She said she would call us around lunch time. For more updates.

Isenhower made it out of surgery successfully and is in the recovery & healing phase

He will remain hospitalized a few more days since it was such a big orthopedic surgery. We will continue to accept donations for his care while he’s hospitalized to help offset the balance for his family.

Thank you all so much this community yet again amazes me!

Isenhower will be able to get his necessary surgery if we can raise just a little bit more money, we had an additional 500 coming overnight, which leaves us just 300 short from being able to get him on the surgery schedule. Of course, this only covers the cost of the surgery but not the remaining hospitalization. We are hoping to help close the gap for the family as much as we can.

You can contribute to his care by donating through our embers donation link https://www.emberreignfoundation.org/embers any donations coming in since yesterday and on will go towards his care while he’s in the hospital.

Currently, he has a urinary catheter in place, he is getting IV fluids, and pain medication around the clock to help Keep him stable.

The goal and hope is that he will get surgery by this afternoon so that he can begin his healing process

Isenhower and some of his favorite people - before crisis hit

We are still raising funds to get him the surgery.

I spoke with the surgeon today said that he will need an FHO basically removal of the femoral head to stabilize his pelvis - he is getting pain management IV fluids until we can reach the amount for surgery

Currently we are roughly $800 short of that number to meet the minimum financial commitment to get him into surgery.

Our foundation has granted the $2500 compassion grant and we have raised a total of $700 in additional funds today so a payment was just made of $3200 to the hospital Caring for him

🚨 ERF EMERGENCY CASE: ISENHOWER 🚨

https://www.emberreignfoundation.org/embers

Yesterday morning started like any other morning for 2-year-old Isenhower and his Doberman sister. They were let outside together for their normal morning routine while their family got their day started.

At some point while the two dogs were playing and wrestling, the clasp securing Isenhower’s tie-out came unhooked from his collar.

No one knew.

When his family went outside to bring the dogs back in, Isenhower was nowhere to be found. His tie-out was stretched toward the back of the property, and they immediately began searching and calling for him.

Then they saw their neighbor outside with Isenhower.

Sometime around 7:57 AM, something appears to have caught his attention and he darted into the roadway.

Isenhower was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle did not stop.

In one completely ordinary morning, one failed clasp and a matter of seconds turned this family’s world upside down.

And that is something I really want to emphasize as we share his story: this was an accident.

It would be easy to look at a story involving a dog being hit by a car and immediately ask what someone should have done differently. But Isenhower was outside at his own home, secured as he normally was, playing with his sister. His family had no reason to believe that morning would be any different.

Sometimes terrible things happen despite our best efforts.

Thankfully, Isenhower survived. But he suffered a broken pelvis that requires surgical repair, and time matters.

His family has already stepped up tremendously. They paid approximately $720 to initially stabilize him and get him transferred to the appropriate hospital, followed by another $2,100 toward his care.

His current minimum estimate is $6,183.63, and the goal is to get his surgery moving forward as soon as possible—hopefully this evening—to give this sweet boy the strongest prognosis possible.

The Ember Reign Foundation is committing a $2,500 Compassion Grant toward Isenhower’s care. Now we are asking our community to help us close as much of the remaining gap as possible.

I am actively putting together his full ERF campaign now, but you do not have to wait for the campaign to go live to help him. If Isenhower’s story compels you and you would like to contribute, you can make a one-time donation to ERF now, and those funds will go toward helping us get this boy the surgery he needs.

No family wakes up expecting an emergency like this.

No one expects a clasp to fail.

And no one expects that within seconds, their healthy two-year-old dog will suddenly need thousands of dollars in emergency orthopedic care.

But this is exactly why Ember Reign Foundation exists.

To step into that horrible space between “we can save him” and “we have to find the money to save him.”

Isenhower has already fought through the hardest part.

Now let’s help get him back on his feet. ❤️‍🩹

More information and his official campaign are coming shortly. In the meantime, every one-time donation—whether it is $5, $10, $25, $50 or more—helps us move closer to getting Isenhower into surgery.

Please share his story. Even if you cannot donate, sharing may put Isenhower in front of the person who can.

🍿 POPCORN WITH A PURPOSE — IN HONOR OF EMBER REIGN 🧡

Our Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser is officially underway, and this one means more to us than I can put into words.

August 28 marks one year since we lost our girl, Ember Reign. 🧡🐾

Losing Ember changed everything. Out of that heartbreak came The Ember Reign Foundation and a mission to make sure her life continues to create an impact long after her own ended.

Through ERF, we help families facing life-threatening veterinary emergencies by providing financial assistance directly to treating hospitals, while continuing our work through education and advocacy.

Every bag of popcorn purchased through this fundraiser helps us continue that mission — saving lives in Ember’s name.

🍿 Shop our Double Good store through August 28:

Whether you grab a few bags, send some to family, or simply share our fundraiser, you’re helping us turn the loss of one incredibly special girl into hope for so many others.

Her life mattered. Her story matters. And her legacy is still saving lives. 🧡🔥🐾

Thank you for continuing to show up for Ember, for ERF, and for every family who needs us.
