On Sunday, Downriver Linked Greenways and Friends of the Detroit River partnered with Downriver Delta CDC for a community bike ride touring the Downriver Delta Trail through Lincoln Park, Ecorse, and River Rouge.

The ride included site visits at Dingell Park, Memorial Park, and Belanger Park, giving participants the opportunity to experience firsthand an important regional trail connection linking northern Downriver communities.

Thank you to the 10 riders who joined us for a great day exploring the trail, learning about the corridor, and highlighting the value of connected greenways across the region!

Attention! Due to inclement weather conditions, Rolling Downriver will be rescheduled to Sunday, May 24th at 10am.

Spotted on the Downriver Linked Greenways trail system… our newest trail ambassador 🐻

A recent bear sighting in Downriver has definitely caught everyone’s attention, something we do not see around here very often! It is also a reminder of how important connected green spaces and trail corridors are for both people and wildlife.

If you are out on the trails, stay alert, respect wildlife, and enjoy the adventure 🌿

Join us for our Final Townhall on May 7th from 5–7 PM at Ecorse City Hall as we wrap up the public engagement process for the proposed on-road bike lanes along West Jefferson Avenue between Ecorse and Trenton!

We’ll share project updates, talk through what we’ve heard so far, and provide a chance for continued questions and feedback as we move into the next phase of design. Community input has played a key role throughout this process, and we’re excited to keep that conversation going.

We’re excited to see the return of the HCMA Trail Challenge for 2026!

This is a great opportunity to explore the incredible trail systems and natural spaces across the region while staying active and connected outdoors.

We’re also looking forward to helping highlight local Downriver trails that connect into the broader regional network. These are great options for anyone looking to explore something new, whether you are just getting started or already spend a lot of time on the trails.

Stay tuned throughout the season for trail spotlights, route ideas, and Downriver trail connections that can be incorporated into the challenge. 🚴‍♂️🚶‍♀️
