Congratulations to the Talkeetna Historical Society on their successful Salmon Run Art fundrasier at the Hangar this weekend.
Art takes a village. And we are so happy to help our neighbors succeed in their goals!

The Salmon Run Art Auction fundraiser this past Saturday was an enormous success! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we raised $4,000 for the Talkeetna Historical Society, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who donated their time, energy, creativity, and funds to help support the Museum.

A very special thank-you to our amazing fundraising committee—Holly Stinson, Tracy Steere, Jenny Packer, and Joellen Bye—for all of their hard work making this event happen!

We’re also incredibly grateful to Mountain High Pizza Pie and the Talkeetna Roadhouse for their beautiful and generous donations of food and treats; Ember Haynes for the gorgeous flowers and cake; Phillip Manning for being our auctioneer extraordinaire; Donovan for serenading us with wonderful tunes; and Denali Arts Council for graciously hosting us in the Hangar.

And, of course, thank you to the selfless community members who created the unbelievable artwork, and to everyone who came out to eat, mingle, bid, buy a salmon, and support the Museum.

We are truly humbled by the incredible support of our community. It takes a village to keep a little museum like ours going, and we are so lucky to be part of this one. ❤️

We can’t wait to see what kind of creative fish swim our way next year!

🎭 There’s a lot happening at the Hangar this season!
Music that moves you. Dance that surprises you. Theater that pulls you in. Light shows that make you say whoa. And probably a few things that may surprise you.
That’s the DAC 2026–27 Performing Arts Season. A whole season of gathering together, experiencing something wonderful, and keeping the arts alive right here in Talkeetna.
Grab a season ticket, come on down to the Hangar, and be part of it all!

Talkeetna's very own TKA Hawks will be performing for Live at Five in the park.

But seriously, tonight is SQUARE DANCE night at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Come on down and bring your family to this FREE event!
Doors open at 6:30, foot stompin' begins at 7:00!

We here at DAC are so excited to see the gorgeous salmon art displayed here at the Hangar for the Salmon Run Art Auction benefiting one of our favorite neighbors from across the street, the Talkeetna Historical Society. Square Dance! Join us on Thursday, August 13th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hanger for a free, family-friendly and family-fun night of live music and dancing! Doors open at 6:30pm and music & dancing starts promptly at 7:00pm. Caller Spencer Douthit will teach all dances; no experience needed! Live music by Big Chimney Barn Dance. This is a dry event. Donations for the band and caller welcome!

Tomorrow is the big day!
From 3pm - 6pm everyone is invited to the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar to view the art and film our community youth have been creating this summer!
This is a free event.
The culmination of our Upper Susitna Fine Arts Camps will be celebrated with a red carpet, dressing up in our Hollywood best and enjoying a gallery opening and film review (each film is 2-3 minutes) by our kids of the Upper Susitna Valley.
Come support these creative kids, bring a friend, eat some snacks, and celebrate our future generation in the arts!

Of course we must thank our generous donators, Mat-Su Health Foundation and Talkeetna Bachelor Society for all they've done to make these art camps a success!
