One of my favorite things about construction and manufacturing is all the problem solving that happens turning a concept into reality.

After spending a good deal of time over the past couple years advocating for treatment services it’s an honor to be part of the Puyallup Tribe of Indian’s new facility.

We’re not quite finished yet, but we’ll be ready for the ribbon cutting Friday 👌

Anyone in SE Tacoma wondering why Comcast has been out for 4 hours (or more) and counting……

This little building next to Wane + Flitch is the internet hub for most of SE Tacoma. I just had a chat with the techs working to restore service. A Comcast pedestal was tampered with by transients at some point this morning. Presumably they cut a cable inside a pedestal hoping to find copper. Fiber optic line has little if any scrap value.

Thanks! 😡

We want to take a minute to give a shoutout to Officer Savannah Brown. Officer Brown saw a need in the community and established a program to support our most vulnerable residents: Children experiencing trauma.

"Children removed from homes often have no clothing, adequate nutrition, or belongings. Patrol officers often do not know how long it will take until CPS shows up. So, I prepacked emergency bags with a set of clothing, undergarments, snacks, toiletries and a ‘comfort’ item to help ease what can be a traumatic situation for children,” Brown explained.

Included in the bags are hand-written letters of encouragement from University of Washington Tacoma where Officer Brown studied.

The Lakewood Officers' Charity, a nonprofit, and colleagues and professors from UW Tacoma, as well as the Target Store Lakewood and CPS/Washington State DSHS, and other donors stepped up to help. Together these partners contributed funding or donated items to fill the backpacks.

Last week Officer Brown met with Target representatives to pack the bags. As backpacks are given out, new ones will fill their place. Thank you to the donors involved and to Officer Brown for taking initiative to start this program.
