⛳ Community Showing Up for Community! 💙

We are incredibly grateful to for hosting their 2nd Annual Golf Tournament benefiting Samaritan Center!

For the second year, Yards Grill brought together golfers, local businesses, sponsors, and friends for a day of fun with an even greater purpose—supporting our neighbors who rely on Samaritan Center for meals, basic needs, and connection to critical resources.

Partnerships like this mean so much to us. As the number of guests coming through our doors continues to grow, having local businesses choose to stand alongside us helps ensure we can continue to provide a welcoming place at the table for everyone.

Thank you to the entire team, every golfer, sponsor, donor, and supporter who made this year's tournament possible. Your generosity makes an impact long after the last putt. ⛳❤️

🥬🍗🍞 Now THIS is what community partnership looks like.

Today, Samaritan Center received an incredibly generous food donation from Wegmans through the Food Bank of Central New York—and it arrived at exactly the right time.

Fresh produce. Salad kits. Bread. Chicken. Prepared meals. And so much more.

With 550–600 guests coming through our doors each day, donations like this have an immediate impact. These aren't simply boxes of food—they become nourishing meals served to our neighbors at a time when the need in our community continues to grow.

We are incredibly grateful to Wegmans and for helping us keep our kitchen stocked and our tables full. 💚

This is what happens when businesses, community organizations, donors and volunteers work together: more people get fed.

Thank you for standing with Samaritan Center and the people we serve.

Stand with us today! https://samcenter.org/donate/

A meal can get someone through today. But what can help change tomorrow?

Today at Samaritan Center, our guests participated in a Housing Workshop—getting practical information, resources and guidance to help them navigate one of the greatest challenges facing our community: finding and maintaining safe, stable housing.

This is what your support makes possible.

Your donations help us provide more than meals. They allow us to create opportunities for our guests to connect with resources, ask questions, understand their options and take meaningful steps toward greater stability.

For someone experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity, knowing where to turn—or even where to begin—can be overwhelming. Bringing these resources directly to our guests removes one more barrier.

This is why we need you.

When you give to Samaritan Center, you're helping us meet immediate needs while also investing in the services and connections that can help someone move forward.

The housing crisis is happening right here in our community. And together, we can be part of the response.

❤️ Make a gift today and help us continue providing meals, resources and pathways toward stability for our neighbors who need us.

❤️ Celebrating Our Hunger Hero, Brenda Mims! ❤️

We are incredibly proud to share that Brenda Mims was honored by the Food Bank of Central New York with a Hunger Hero Award , recognizing her extraordinary commitment to fighting hunger and serving our commuwith a Hunger Hero Award, recognizing her extraordinary commitment to fighting hunger and serving our community.

For 28 years, Brenda has been at the heart of Samaritan Center. But her impact has always extended far beyond the meals we serve.

Brenda has purchased clothing and shoes for guests, shared her own lunch with someone who was hungry, offered a hug when someone needed one, and—most importantly—made sure the people who come through our doors know they are seen, valued and not alone.

To many of our guests, Brenda is more than a familiar face. She is a friend, an advocate and a source of comfort. She understands that this work is about relationships, dignity and showing up for people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

And in true Brenda fashion, she is always quick to redirect the praise back to the community. Her philosophy is simple: “It’s not a me thing. It’s a we thing.”

After nearly three decades of service, Brenda’s legacy cannot be measured simply by the number of meals served, but by the countless moments of hope and compassion she has created along the way.

Congratulations, Brenda! We are so proud to see your 28 years of service recognized and so grateful that you are part of the Samaritan Center family. ❤️

And thank you to the Food Bank for recognizing the people in our community who dedicate themselves to creating a more food-secure future.

💙 Our community continues to step up!

This weekend, St. Rose donated hundreds of basic needs items to help stock Samaritan Center’s Basic Needs Closet. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and commitment to our guests!

And the need continues. With hundreds of guests coming through our doors each day, essentials like toilet paper, deodorant, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes and diapers go quickly.

Every item makes a difference. If your church, business, school or community group would like to host a basic needs drive, we would love your help! ❤️
