Meals on Wheels of Syracuse recently celebrated the completion of its expanded North Syracuse facility with a ribbon cutting.

We were proud to join in the celebration and to have supported the project through a Community Grant, which helped add space for meal preparation and distribution so the organization can continue serving more people across northern Onondaga County.

We look forward to seeing all that this expanded space makes possible for the community!

As we continue to celebrate Black Philanthropy Month, we’re highlighting an organization putting generosity, leadership and collective action into practice across Central New York.

In 2024, Black Artist Collective CNY, Inc. paired four high school students with local professional artists to create work inspired by the past, present and future of Syracuse’s 15th Ward, a predominantly Black neighborhood largely destroyed in the 1960s to make way for Interstate 81.

Through our Black Equity & Excellence Fund, we support community-led projects like this one that uplift and empower Black communities.

Cortland County, you voted and the results are in! 🗳

Congratulations to The Chamber who were announced las night as the winner of a $75,000 participatory budgeting grant to support affordable child care access in Cortland County. With more than 1,000 total votes cast, the winning proposal will be used to help the chamber hire a project professional who will lead planning, feasibility, and fundraising to transform the former Parker Elementary School into an Early Childhood Education Center and community hub. The Center will initially serve about 100 children, with capacity to expand to 150.

The ballot also included proposals submitted by Cortland Collective Impact Initiatives, Lime Hollow Nature Center and Cortland County Family YMCA.

As we look ahead to our centennial, we’re celebrating moments like this and the power of community voice!
