Sometimes things don’t go as planned 🙃 Our CPR class this year came with a few unexpected twists, including being locked out of our usual event center! But thanks to Dannielle’s (and everyone taking the class!) flexibility, we made it happen outside. Thank you to this year’s group for taking the time to learn such an important skill! ❤️🫀

Join me as we celebrate National CPR/AED Week in the first week of June! For the 4th year, SJF proudly sponsors free CPR certification. So far 36 people have gotten certified through The Sonny Jude Foundation👏🏼 I find such importance in learning CPR because CPR gave me 6 extra months with my sweet Sonny boy. The power to save a life is in your hands! Getting certified ensures you’re prepared to act swiftly in an emergency. Your training could mean the difference between life and death, offering precious time for families to be with their loved one or to give a proper goodbye. I have 12 spots available. As we close out Heart Health Month and enter March, I want to take a moment to bring awareness to Long QT Syndrome..the heart condition that took my sweet Sonny from me.

Long QT is a genetic heart rhythm disorder that can cause fast, chaotic heartbeats, leading to fainting, seizures, or even sudden cardiac arrest. It often goes undiagnosed until it’s too late.

Raising awareness can save lives. If you have a family history of unexplained fainting, seizures, or sudden cardiac death, please talk to your doctor about screening. Early detection and treatment can make all the difference. For Sonny, and for all the little hearts that deserved more time. ❤️

Through my grief, I found the SADS Foundation, an organization dedicated to educating and supporting families affected by genetic heart conditions like Long QT. Working with them brought me so much understanding and peace, helping me navigate this heartbreaking loss while also learning how to protect others🫀

Often, many families are left wondering what happened to their perfectly healthy babies and are left with no answers. If you know something genetic runs in your family, PLEASE keep this in mind before having children. Get tested❤️🫂

Did you know…February is Heart Health Month! It is a time to raise awareness and take action to protect our hearts. With The Sonny Jude Foundation, my mission is deeply rooted in honoring Sonny’s legacy by advocating for Long QT awareness and heart health education. That’s why we hold our annual pancake breakfast in February, to bring our community together, spread awareness. If you’ve attended the fundraiser you know I always have brochures from to help educate about sudden arythmia death syndromes. Also, CPR is what gave me 6 more months with Sonny & that is why sponsoring CPR certifications is so important to me. Knowing the signs, getting screened, and learning CPR can save lives. Let’s take care of our hearts and each other. ❤️🥞

Thank you sooo much to everyone who came & supported in one way or another. Together we raised $2,948!! 💛💛 Your support allows me to keep Sonny alive within the community and it really does bring me joy. Thank you so much to everyone who came and had breakfast, those who helped set up and break down, those who donated items and baskets, those who volunteered their time, those who couldn’t make it and still participated, and everyone for the well wishes. It means so much more than I could ever articulate. 💛🌞
