As our summer missions approaches, we want to ask our prayer partners to join us in prayer for different aspects of Harvest Mission’s ministry.

Let’s begin by praying for our lead missionaries Mike Owen and Frank Belfort to be rooted in Christ and protected from evil. A missionary’s task is spiritual and we know that our enemy seeks to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10). Please lift up Mike and Frank to be faithful to remain in God’s Word and prayer, to wear their spiritual armor, and to protect them from discouragement, stress, and conflict.

Thank you so much for partnering in prayer with us.

One of the biggest obstacles to overseas missions is FEAR-
Believe me- we get it

Where will God call me to serve?

What will He ask me to do?

What if I get sick while there?

What about the plane ride?

How will I pay for it?

All these are very common concerns and we let them get in the way of His plans.

God will never send us where He will not equip us and call us too. He will even give you a desire and a joy for the people you will reach!

FAITH in practice is trusting God with all those worries. Once you step out in faith to answer God’s call to carry the Gospel to the nations, He will prove himself faithful to meet all your needs and equip you for His work.

FAITH over Fear!

Salvation dolls are an awesome tool we use to present the Gospel to children. Then they take them home and can use them to share with others. We’ve had women’s church groups in the past make them to give out to the children in Brazil. We are in need of some for this upcoming summer if you know of any groups looking for a missions project. Help us spread the word!

It’s that time of year when our church teams are beginning to promote their summer mission and form their teams for this year. 🇧🇷

Many of you are praying and seeking the Lord on whether you should join that team or not.

Recently I heard someone say at our church that the Bible does not excuse one single person from the Great Commission-
And that’s true. It doesn’t say IF you are able, or IF you can afford it, or IF you want to- it says “Go… and make disciples of all the nations.”

I realize this doesn’t mean everyone is called to go to Brazil but everyone IS called to make disciples. You definitely don’t have to travel to a foreign country to do that and we want you to be doing it now where you live.

But Harvest Mission provides an opportunity to GO to one of those “nations”.

Can you guess what one of biggest reasons is that people talk themselves out of going?

Yep…money. The cost.

I had a dear sister in Christ that I attend church with tell me on this Sunday -“I want to go but I’m not sure.”

I said “What’s your hesitation?”

Her answer….. “I can’t afford it.”

My answer, “ So you’re saying if God calls you to go, He can’t provide you with that money? There has never been one person to go that He didn’t provide for.”

Of course, we “know” that!

Until it’s us that’s feeling called.

Until it’s us that looks at the cost, then our bank account. 🤦🏻‍♀️

This is where faith comes in. ✝️

Do you really believe God?

If He is putting that desire in your heart to answer His calling to go, do you believe He can SEND you?

Could He provide you with extra money randomly between now and then?

Could He tell someone else to pay your way?

Could He provide opportunities for you to raise the money?

Could He?

Of course He can! G O D is ABLE🙌🏻

Guess what? He’s done it over and over and over again for others. Why wouldn’t He do it for you too?

One of the greatest aspects of going on a foreign mission trip is learning to rely on God in ways you’ve never had to. For many, that starts with the faith to say “Yes, I’ll go” and “I’ll trust You to provide the way.”

Believe me, I get it. I’ve got a daughter who wanted to sign up for all 3 mission trips our church is going on the summer. My first thought was “we can’t afford all three.” But I took that thought captive and I told her to pray about it and if God tells her to go, then we’ll trust Him to provide.

So please be encouraged when you read this to seek God on going, answer His calling and then place your faith in Him to provide the way for you.

If you have ever had these same doubts and watched God provide for you, will you drop a 🙋🏻‍♀️, or a word of encouragement for those struggling?

We love you all and look forward to working with all our summer missionaries! Thank you for being a part of HMB!

We had a wonderful time at the baptism service this week. The highlight was a 74 year old lady who received Christ several years ago. She was so joy filled as we made our way down into the water. Jesus has brought her such joy. This has a culmination of about 8 years of evangelistic work by teams from all over the United States. Thank you for helping to take the gospel to those who have never heard. I am so grateful for all that God has done. Give Him glory!

PS. - We are using a swimming pool because rainy season hasn’t started yet and there wasn’t any water available in the village for baptism. So we rented a van and bused the church into the city. s

We’ve been waiting for so long for this opportunity.
