..........Update on Twinkle......
Her EPM test results came in this morning. It was not good, high positive. She does not have any neurological issues, which is good news. She started her adjunctive treatment today and will start another type of treatment tomorrow. This can be life threatening but hopefully we have diagnosed her in time. Please keep her in your prayers!
EPM is caused by raccoon and possum droppings, which causes intestinal worms. These worms will not die with horse wormer. This can be life threatening if not diagnosed in time. Please be aware of this with your horses. The following are the symptoms to look for:

Yesterday afternoon, 06/13/2022, Minnie crossed over the rainbow bridge. She has been sick for almost a year with COPD. Her breathing had gotten worse with all the hot weather. I couldn't let her go through it any more. My sweet Angel, you will always be my favorite girl❤️. 😢😢

Update on Pancho......
He hasn't been doing good for about 4 days now. The owner agreed to call the vet yesterday and she came out this morning. Due to his age, very low weight and injuries, he has crossed over the rainbow bridge. Pancho, you were one of the sweetest and loving horses that I have ever met. You have no more pain now. Run like the wind sweet boy! You will forever have a place in our hearts! Love you sweet boy❤️

Update on Pancho.......
This horse had really amazed us. A few days ago, we did not think he would make it but now he is putting some pressure on his back leg. He still has a lot of swelling and a lot of healing to do. He really needs to be on stall rest for quite awhile. He is under weight but is now on a good feed. The owners are picking him up Tuesday. I pray that his care will continue as needed but we will not be included in that. Pancho left an imprint on our heart and we will always love him❤️. If I am able to get updates, I will post them. Thank you everyone for the prayers and caring for this sweet boy.

Meet Ponch❤️He is the sweetest boy! He got out of his fence during a storm and was hit by a car. He is not on my property but I am helping to take care of him. His owner was found but he can't be moved because of his injuries. He has the will to survive and is getting lots of love. But due to his injuries, we need lots of prayers for this sweet boy. Special thanks to Dana Hay and her daughter for keeping him in their barn and watching after him.

Meet Twinkle and Lacie
They have been seen by the vet. Twinkle has pneumonia and Lacie has a respiratory infection. They are both on antibiotics and steroids. They will have to be quarantined for awhile. Both have had baths, been wormed and had their feet done. Twinkle is underweight but on a good protein food and alfalfa hay. There feet needed trimming but they are healthy. There is a possibility 1 or both could be pregnant so they will be having an ultrasound done. Both are still a little scared but with alot Love and Patience, they will be ok.

It has been quite awhile since I posted. When I moved my rescue to Sylacauga, I never imagined rescuing as many horses that I have now. My heart can not say no, I just figure it out. The last half of last year, I had 3 new baby donkeys born and took in 9 new rescue horses. This year so far, I've taken in 5 new rescue horses. As of now, I have around 30 horses. Even though it is a lot of work, they are now safe and forever loved. I will be posting pictures and updates on each one.
