Christianburg Fire Department Responds to Brush Fire on Christianburg Road

On 6-21-26 the Christianburg Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Christianburg Road for a reported brush fire.
Upon arrival, Chief 33 Derek Ingram established command and requested assistance from Monroe County Brush 1 and the Sweetwater Fire Department. Fire crews found approximately 1 to 1.5 acres of a freshly cut hay field involved in fire.

Thanks to the quick response and coordinated efforts of all responding agencies, firefighters were able to rapidly contain and extinguish the fire, preventing further spread and damage to surrounding property.

The Christianburg Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend its sincere appreciation to Monroe County Brush 1, the Sweetwater Fire Department, and all personnel who responded and assisted on scene. Your teamwork and dedication continue to make a difference in protecting our community.

🚨 Grant Announcement 🚨
The Christianburg Volunteer Fire Department is proud to announce that we have been awarded the CSX Railroad Pride in Service Grant. This funding will allow our department to purchase brand-new AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) to better serve and protect our community with updated, advanced lifesaving equipment.
These new AEDs will help improve emergency medical response and provide critical care when every second counts. We are extremely thankful to CSX Railroad for their support and commitment to helping volunteer fire departments continue serving their communities safely and effectively.
On behalf of our department and community, thank you to CSX Railroad for helping make this possible. Your generosity and partnership are greatly appreciated.
