20 Years of Community. 20 Years of Impact. Proof That Primary Prevention Works. 💥
For the last 20 years, the Monroe County Prevention & Wellness Coalition (PWC) has worked alongside parents, schools, law enforcement/first responders, community partners, and local leaders with one clear goal: protecting our youth from substance misuse before it starts.

From school-based Youth Coalitions and community events like Smash the Stigma Community Water Balloon Fight and Mental Health Field Days, to DEA Drug Take Back events and retailer compliance tools, our work touches every corner of Monroe County.

The result of 20 years of local dedication?

📉 -48% Youth Alcohol Misuse
📉 -15% Youth Ni****ne Vaping(Source: TN Together Student Survey)
Prevention works—and these numbers prove it. But our work isn't done.

To fund the next two decades of youth leadership, stigma reduction, and community prevention programs, we are launching our 20 for 20 Campaign to raise $20,000.

💜 October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

This October, we’re asking Monroe County to PAINT THE TOWN PURPLE as we stand together for survivors, honor those impacted by domestic violence, and shine a light on the resources and support available in our community.

Throughout the month, there are several ways to get involved—from displaying a purple bow and wearing purple on , October 15, to participating in awareness activities and survivor-focused events.

💜 Wear purple. Display purple. Share purple.
Every ribbon, bow, shirt, and conversation helps send one important message: survivors are seen, supported, and not alone.
