As the FIFA World Cup World Cup comes to Philadelphia over the next month, we wanted to highlight an amazing partnership between Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management and DHCC.

With over 1.5 million visitors expected to join us in the area this summer for the World Cup, America's 250th , the MLB All-Star Game - The Office of Emergency Management wanted to make sure that all Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind visitors have full access to emergency alerts that may be needed during that time!

DHCC worked with OEM and Highwind Post Production - a video production firm led by a parent of two deaf children - to create 29 new videos to add to 53 that were done previously. We brought a Deaf person to sign the scripts. Whenever Philadelphia OEM sends out an emergency alert, they can send a link to the appropriate ASL video as well.

We’re thrilled to welcome all of our summer visitors to Philadelphia and to enjoy our region safely and inclusively!
