Today marks six years since we lost Lt. Rickey Lee Woods.

Rickey gave 28 years of his life to the Sumiton Fire & Rescue and to the people of this community. He wasn’t just a firefighter or a lieutenant. He was a friend, a brother, and someone who left his mark on the department as well as the people who had the privilege of knowing him.

Six years later, he is still remembered. His name, his service, and the example he set are still a part of Sumiton Fire & Rescue.

We continue to think about Rickey, his family, and all those who loved him.

Uncle Rickey, we haven’t forgotten you!
