Autistic Angels Foundation has announced that they are preparing their filing for designation as 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization designed to help Autistic people of all ages. Second, the Foundation has initiated its website -- www.autisticangelsfoundation.com -- this website will be contoured as a search engine which will bring all medical facilities to the finger tips, of parents and care giver
s who are in desperate need of respite. It will list all hospitals, clinics and churches in an area closest to a zip code entered in search. The founder of Autistic Angels, Linda Hawk-Leonard, made the following statement: “Being a mother of my beautiful autistic son Ricky for 19 years, I searched the world for answers and for help. I made endless calls to my local police department … even they had no answers. All I got was to be placed on a waiting list, while at same time, I could not take my eyes off my child or he would be gone -- Ricky would vanish in seconds. This was the first challenge. The second challenge was to live a normal life, to keep a marriage, to keep a business or job functioning, and to especially stabilize the household for my three other children. My prayer is to reach out to the world to support transforming this site into a real information source and a tool for those parents who have Autistic children.”
Autistic Angels has a second phase as well -- That is to team up with churches, plus doctors and medical facilities, to build a nation-wide medical clinic for the purpose of providing 3-to-5 day ‘short stay’ visits for Autistic children, allowing for parent and sibling respites.
