What if ICE is present at the polls tomorrow?
All U.S. citizens have the Right to vote without intimidation. It is illegal for ICE to be within 250 ft. of a polling location. They cannot interfere with any U.S. citizen’s right to cast their ballot. If you see ICE at or around the polls, call the immigrant defence hotline at 207-544-9989

Now is the time to make your voting plan! 🗳️

Some important dates to keep in mind as we start the week off:

🔵 Thursday, October 29th: Last day to request your absentee ballot
🔵 Thursday, October 29th: Last day for Early Voting
🔵 Tuesday, November 3rd: Election Day, vote in person at your town office

Join Welcoming America and ICLEI USA for ‘Climate Migration Readiness: Bridging Welcoming and Resilience’ TOMORROW Thursday, October 15 from 11-2pm.

This free virtual program will explore how existing immigrant welcoming infrastructure and local governments can help communities prepare for climate-related migration. Through real examples, we’ll look at how immigrant affairs and climate resilience teams can learn from each other and build on what already exists.

Maine Climate Action Now and A Climate to Thrive welcome you to join ‘Reconnection, A Community of Practice’ , a monthly online space to re-center and engage with resources developed by Joanna Macy and colleagues in a supportive community. Be guided through exercises that support sustainable activism and foster a deeper and broader sense of community. By holding space for a range of emotions, inviting vulnerability, and accessing creativity, we hope that we will strengthen our capacity to stay present and engaged on the path of working for a just and thriving world for all.

This group is open to all and will be held virtually on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 7:00 - 8:15 pm. Tonight is our first session—come join us!

Maine PUC staff favors ejecting CMP’s proposed rate hike. CMP responded saying the recommended decision will have consequences beyond the rate case, and would extend financial uncertainty for the company.
