💛 What an incredible evening! We served more than 80 people!!

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who joined us for this year’s Chili Dinner.

From the dedicated volunteers and chefs who kept the pots full, to the friends and families who filled the room with laughter and conversation - you made the night unforgettable.

Events like this remind us why our community is so special: it’s not just about the food (though the chili was delicious!), but about the connections we share around the table.

Until next year, stay warm, stay connected, and know how grateful we are for each of you! 🌶️🍲✨

Meet 2026 Sail Training Foundation Instructor Atticus Haus.

Hello, my name is Atticus Haus. I am a sophomore at Sturgeon Bay High School. Ever since I started sailing, it has been one of my favorite things to do as it can be both calming or exhilarating. This is my 8th year sailing. I've spent every year sailing at the Sail Training Foundation in the summer as it is a great organization. I am a member of the Sturgeon Bay sail team, as well, which came back to fruition in the fall of 2025, and I participated in the fall and spring sailing season. Our team had a number of successes, even in our first year as a team.

In addition to sailing, I partake in many other activities, such as swimming, wrestling, band, and running. Sailing has not only provided a fun experience but also sharpened my decision making and motor control skills, and I want to pass these things to new sailors so they might also have these experiences and skills.

Meet Sail Training Foundation's Instructor, Kenton Kobilca

My name is Kenton Kobilca, and I was born and raised in Sturgeon Bay. This fall, I will be a junior at Sturgeon Bay High School. I began sailing at STF when I was in elementary school and have loved the sport ever since. Over the past two years, I’ve been a member of my high school sailing team, where I’ve enjoyed traveling to regattas and continuing to develop my skills on the water. Outside of sailing, I enjoy hunting, fishing, and skiing. I’m excited about the opportunity to work at STF this year and look forward to sharing my passion for sailing with others.

Meeting this year's Sail Training Foundation's Instructor, Olive Goettelman

My parents introduced me to sailing when I was very young. By age 4, I was crewing with my dad on his Flying Scot, and by 6 I was sailing my own boat. I wasn't immediately sold — but after sticking with it and pushing through the tough days, I grew to love it.

This is my second summer with STF and my first year as an instructor. There are many reasons I'm excited about that. I love working with kids and teaching them new things, and I want to share my passion for sailing with others. Sailing gave me an incredible community and experiences that shaped my childhood. The instructors at STF always made it fun, and they're the reason I fell in love with the sport. This summer, I want to do the same for the next group of sailors.

My biggest goals this year are simple. I want every kid to have at least one moment on the water where they surprise themselves — that "I did it!" feeling when something finally clicks. And I want to help kids discover what I discovered: that sailing is something worth sticking with, even on the hard days.
