Because children grow through challenge.

At Acorn School, our certified TimberNook® programming gives children the opportunity to explore, create, climb, build, and engage with the natural world in ways that support confidence, independence, and emotional growth.

Through carefully supervised outdoor play experiences, children learn how to assess risk, navigate obstacles, problem-solve, and develop resilience — all critical skills for healthy development. environments are intentionally designed to allow freedom within safe boundaries, helping children stretch their abilities while feeling secure and supported.

January in the Woolly Bears classroom meant a frosty adventure! ❄️ They explored the Arctic, learned about Inuit traditions, built Inuksuks, experimented with ice, and even tried their hand at “ice fishing” — all through hands-on play and curiosity.
