GOOD DOG SERIES: We know this guy's next best friend is out there... we just gotta track them down! 👀

Next up in this series where we introduce you to dogs who have been waiting a little too long for their second chance is nine-year-old Digger! Unsurprisingly, this guy has BIG Beagle energy, and if ya know Beagles, ya know:

Full of personality? ✅
Curious and scent-driven? ✅
Friendly and vocal? ✅

Digger absolutely loves being around people! He's also one smart cookie who knows a whole bunch of commands and tricks, such as sit, stay, shake, roll over, dance, play dead... yeah, you read that right! He even dances and plays dead! This boy has a whole repertoire and it's quite impressive.

A FEW MORE THINGS TO LOVE ABOUT DIGGER:
▪️ Has lived with people of all ages
▪️ Has experience living with other dogs and dog-savvy cats
▪️ Does well in the car
▪️ Can stay home alone without needing to be crated

A FEW THINGS HIS FUTURE FAMILY SHOULD KNOW:
Digger is a senior dog and in true senior-dog-fashion, he has a few medical considerations that we want his future family to be aware of, including environmental allergies, a heart murmur, and dental disease.

He was also evaluated earlier this year after an episode at daycare involving vomiting and possible seizure activity. 🥺 During this episode, he exhibited signs consistent with vestibular disease. He's not currently receiving treatment for this and has been doing really well while in our care, but his history means he'll need a family committed to monitoring for any future symptoms.

If you're a sucker for that unmistakable Beagle charm, we'd love for you to come meet this Very Good Dog. Our team would be happy to chat with you about his medical history and help you determine if he's the right fit for you!

Our Adoption Center will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. today and tomorrow and closed on Monday. We're located at 104 Portsmouth Avenue in Stratham, NH and hope to see you soon. ♥️

This adoptable animal feature is brought to you by our generous Top Dog Sponsor, Veterinary Emergency and Surgery Hospital of Brentwood. Join us for the Auction for the Animals on Saturday, November 21 at Wentworth by the Sea Hotel to help save more animals like Digger!

GOOD DOG SERIES: We've got some incredible dogs who've been hanging out with us for a while, and it's time to give them some extra love! Over the next couple of days, we're going to introduce you to some of our longer-term residents. Get ready to meet some VERY good dogs!

Fair warning: you might fall in love. (We hope you do. 🥰)

First up is four-year-old Phoebe, who kinda broke the internet with her pouty photo a few weeks ago. Check the comments if you missed it. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

If you meet this dog, it’s dang near impossible not to adore her right away. Phoebe LOVES people of all ages, has a happy-go-lucky personality, and is always ready for her next adventure. She’s great in the car, walks beautifully on leash, is an experienced running buddy, and has a tail that simply does 👏 not 👏 quit. 👏

And that UNDERBITE!? Come on!

A FEW MORE THINGS TO LOVE ABOUT PHOEBE:
▪️Has had professional training
▪️Knows basic commands and is reportedly house- and crate-trained
▪️Has successfully lived with dog-savvy cats
▪️Enjoys playing with other dogs (read more about this below)

A FEW THINGS HER FUTURE FAMILY SHOULD KNOW:
Phoebe has lots of energy and can get pretty worked up in her kennel, so she’ll need an active home with plenty of exercise and enrichment. She also has allergies that require a specialized diet and routine care.

While Phoebe enjoys playing with other dogs, she does have a history of resource guarding toys and food. We manage this by removing toys during playdates, but understand that sharing a home with another dog would be more complicated. We think Phoebe would thrive as the only dog, or with an experienced family prepared to manage this behavior.

Phoebe is a Very Good Dog, and we’d love for you to see it for yourself. Will you come take her for a walk and get to know her? Our Adoption Center is open until 4:00 p.m. today and then will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days this weekend (closed on Monday). We’re located at 104 Portsmouth Avenue in Stratham, NH. ♥️

This adoptable animal feature is brought to you by our generous Animal Angel Sponsor, Allen Wayside Furniture Superstore. Join us for the Auction for the Animals on Saturday, November 21 at Wentworth by the Sea Hotel to help save more animals like Phoebe.

If you've adopted an animal, you've seen firsthand all the good that can come from a second chance.

Greater Good Charities’ Good Exists Challenge is inviting people to share a real moment of good they’ve witnessed, and we’d love for our community to tell the world about the good that came into their lives through pet adoption!

Have a video of your dog picking out a new toy? Your cat curled up in their favorite sunny spot? Your horse running to greet you at the gate? That’s the good we want to see! 😍

Your little moment of joy could help shine a light on the good that comes from animal rescue, and it could help us bring even more good to animals in need. Greater Good Charities is donating $100,000 to charities through winning entries, so your video could help secure funding to support our work.

SHARE YOUR GOOD:
1️⃣ Create a video up (1-3 minutes) sharing one good thing you’ve experienced with your adopted animal
2️⃣ Post it on TikTok and tag , and
3️⃣ Submit your video at goodexists.greatergood.org

We know that good exists. We see it here every day. We’d love for you to show us what it looks like in your home. ♥️

If you ever wonder what a difference a donation can make, read Axel's story. He came to us four months ago with his two siblings. His brother and sister were adopted but Axel went into a mandated extended rabies quarantine because he had a wound of unknown origin when he arrived. He was underweight, had some limb abnormalities, and required extensive medical care to assess his various needs. None of this would be possible without our generous donors. And Axel is just one of thousands of animals that will come through out door every year. And right now your donation is also doubled thanks to a friend of the NHSPCA, Helen Brosseau. She has generously provided a $25,000 match! But time is starting to run out. Please give today. As for Axel...he found his forever home, where he provides non-stop kisses, and endless cuddles.
