✨A Journey of Compassion ✨

This week, we welcomed Laura, a Wema volunteer all the way from the United States! With a heart full of compassion and a mission to understand our patients’ experiences, she joined us in Goma to carry out patient journey mapping, listening to stories, walking alongside families, and capturing their hopes, challenges, and victories.

Beyond the research, she brought something even more powerful: presence, empathy, and joy. From hospital beds to home visits, she met each child with a warm smile, a listening ear, and the kind of kindness that crosses all borders.

Thank you for reminding us that care is not just about treatment. it’s about connection. 💛

International Childhood Cancer Day 🎗️

Today, we stand in solidarity with children, adolescents, and families affected by childhood cancer. In these difficult times in Goma, this day reminds us that many children need care but they will not be able to access the care they need. This day is a reminder of the importance of early diagnosis, access to proper treatment, and continuous support for young warriors fighting cancer. Let’s raise awareness, show compassion, and work towards a future where every child has a chance to live a healthy life. 💛

🎉 Celebrating Darlene’s life! 🎉

Today is a day of joy, strength, and hope! 🌟 Our little superhero, Darlene, has officially completed chemotherapy after a courageous battle! Doctors decided to stop Darlene’s chemotherapy as she is considered safe to join school with a follow up plan.

With every smile, every step, and every moment of courage, Darlene has reminded us all of the power of hope and perseverance. We couldn’t be prouder of this incredible milestone.

To the doctors, nurses, family, friends and volunteers who’ve supported this journey, thank you for your love, dedication, and care. 🙏
