THANK YOU to everyone who joined our roundtable discussion on e-bike safety concerns! 🚲

We're grateful to Chief O'Connor, Lieutenant Thistle, Stoneham Public Schools Superintendent DeFrancisco, town staff, local representatives, our Bike/Ped Subcommittee, and all the residents who participated, both in person and online.

The energy in the room was collaborative and positive, and we left with a stronger shared understanding of the issue. Stay tuned for an update on the steps we'll be taking together as a community.

Wishing Stoneham students a great first day back to school! Sharing this reminder about traffic changes.

🚧 ROADWORK & SCHOOL TRAFFIC REMINDER 🚧

With school back in session on Wednesday, we want to remind everyone about some ongoing roadwork and traffic changes around town.

⚠️ SUMMER STREET – SOUTH SCHOOL

Summer Street will be CLOSED during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal to accommodate South School traffic.

Please plan an alternate route and expect increased traffic in the surrounding area during these times.

⚠️ **FRANKLIN STREET – ROADWORK**

Franklin Street will remain **OPEN until 8:30 AM** to allow for morning school traffic.

Roadwork will begin **after 8:30 AM**, and crews will be **off the roadway by 2:15 PM** to accommodate dismissal traffic at Stoneham High School.

🚧 Please remember that construction schedules and traffic patterns can change as work progresses. Motorists should allow extra travel time, follow posted detours, and obey the directions of officers and traffic directors.

🚌 With students back in school, please also be mindful of school buses, pedestrians, cyclists, and new drivers on our roadways. Slow down, stay alert, and give everyone a little extra patience.

Thank you for helping us keep our students, construction crews, and community safe.
