Happy Black Maternal Health Week (April 11-17th)! Join us on Tuesday, April 15th as we come together for our 3rd Annual Black Maternal Health Symposium here in San Joaquin County. It’s time to ignite systems change and really make a difference for the Black birthing families in our community. Excited to have Dr. Sayida Peprah as our keynote speaker!

Hey Birthing Families! Join Reinvent South Stockton Coalition Black Birth Equity Initiative for their last community baby shower for the year! You don’t want to miss this event 💜

Join us for our upcoming Community Baby Shower “Celebrating Our Tias & Tee-Tees”, sponsored by Health Plan of San Joaquin (.mvhp)and Reinvent South Stockton Coalition.

This event is held in areas with high Black infant and maternal mortality, and aims to:

1. Connect families to resources.
2. Educate on maternal and infant health.
3. Recruit diverse CHWs and doulas.
4. Raise awareness of issues affecting Black birthing people.

Expecting parents can win prizes and baby supplies after completing a brief survey. Pre-registration is required. Lastly, 3 grand prize winners will be awarded a photo shoot of their choice and will be featured in the Reinvent South Stockton Black Birth Equity Initiative 2025 calendar.

💜August is National Breastfeeding Month! A time to bring awareness to the benefits and the joys of breastfeeding for both mothers and babies. This month is about educating, supporting, and empowering families to sustain breastfeeding practices across the nation.

🌍 We also kick off World Breastfeeding Week from August 1-7! This global campaign highlights the significance of breastfeeding and encourages worldwide support for breastfeeding mothers. This year’s theme is Breastfeeding Support for All! 🌏

🌿Throughout August, we celebrate breastfeeding across cultures, acknowledging how different communities create awareness around the importance of breastfeeding with respect to their the unique traditions and customs.

🤱🏾Breastfeeding provides countless benefits, including nutritional, immunological, and emotional support for infants. It fosters a special bond between mother and child and contributes to healthier families and communities.
