Matapeake Middle School PTSA is a community of families, students, teachers, administrators, businesses, and local leaders devoted to the educational success of our children and the promotion of parent involvement in school. Mission:
•To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before government bodies and other organizations that make decisions affec

ting children;
•To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; an
•To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation. Purpose:
•To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship.
•To raise the standards of home life.
•To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
•To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
•To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education. We hope everyone had a great last week of summer break! Monday the PTSA provided Carmines for lunch for all of the teachers and staff to start their first day back at school. Friday lots of kids arrived at the Open House to meet teachers, drop off supplies and grab some Kona Ice. We hope you enjoy the weekend!

📣 Important Upcoming Events - Mark your calendars! 📣

Aug 12: 6th grade and New Student Pre Orientation is from 4:30-6pm. Doors open at 4pm. This is a great opportunity for our new students to have a look at the school during their group scavenger hunt, see where their classes are and have time to figure out how to use their lockers.

Aug 21: Open House is from 4-5pm. Doors open at 3:30. 6th grade Orientation is at 4:00 in the cafeteria so make sure to come early to find a seat. They will get a chance to meet with staff, learn about expectations and ask questions. Teachers will be in their classrooms so students can drop off their supplies and meet their teachers. Agenda books will also be for sale.

Sept 24: Back to School Night doors open at 5pm and the first bell will go off at 5:30. During this event you will be able to follow your student's schedules and meet their teacher while learning about the expectaions for their classrooms.
