We hosted our first FCA Camp in Lesotho in partnership with Pinelake Starkville and Lesotho Fellowship of Christian Athletes leader Mahooana Leteketa recently!

During the camp, mornings were spent in a large group, where the teachings on being “All In” centered around what it means to make Jesus the Lord of your life. From there, students broke into small groups for discussion, and the afternoons were spent learning sports skills in rotating groups. We had around 100 youth in attendance at the camp!

On the final day of the trip, Pinelake Starkville participated in village evangelism with some of our youth who also attended the camp. The youth asked to visit a particular village they have been burdened for. One of the youth is from that village and expressed that there is a huge presence of witchcraft and darkness there. She prayed over all of us before we went out and was so excited to see five people in her home village come to know Jesus that day, with many more hearing the Gospel!

Thank you to Pinelake Starkville for traveling all the way to Lesotho to love the Basotho and share the Gospel with them!

We had so much fun at Summer Camp in Marks! First Baptist Church of Jackson and Crossway Church from Vicksburg teamed up to host a camp with First Baptist Marks, and we had over 100 kids attend each day!

From woodworking and building tables with the youth boys, to sewing and baking with the girls, to crafting, singing, and dancing with the children, we saw everyone expressing themselves through so many avenues this week, and it was sweet to see. We are especially thankful for all of our church volunteers who shared their testimonies and wove the Gospel into activities and conversations all week long.

Camps like this are always a highlight for the youth and children we work with, and we are thankful for every person who made this one possible!

This week, Fondren Church hosted a youth retreat in Lesotho! They studied Philippians 2:1–11 and learned about becoming more like Jesus and walking in humility.

God was at work this week, and many new brothers and sisters were added to the Kingdom thanks to this team’s faithfulness in sharing testimonies and pouring into the youth through small groups and one-on-one conversations!

We are so thankful for this team, for their patience despite a snow delay, and for the way they invested in the youth in Lesotho. Fondren brought hats and gloves, bracelet-making supplies, painting supplies, and they played lots of soccer with the kids, which always brightens their day!

Thank you for your continued support, !

We are excited for Walker Headley to join us in Lesotho as a summer intern! We asked Walker what made him want to intern with Reclaimed, and here is what he shared:

“I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel to Lesotho on a fraternity mission trip over spring break for the past four years. Through those experiences, I have developed a deep love for both the Basotho people and the country itself. Going back after college for an extended stay has always been something I hoped to do, not only to continue building relationships but also to serve in a more meaningful and intentional way.

This fall, I will begin medical school, and one of my goals as I start this journey is to continue serving others throughout my career as a physician. I believe this summer would be an incredible opportunity to grow spiritually, learn from the people of Lesotho, and further develop a heart for service that I hope will shape the kind of doctor and person I become.”

We recently hosted a financial literacy class at The Village, put on by New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. We love seeing churches engage with the community and teach important topics like financial wisdom.

We were happy to see Madison S. Palmer Jr., whose father started the local high school, in attendance, as well as Sardis’s first African American alderwoman in 2011 and mayor in 2017, Lula Palmer!

We are excited for Brady Peacock, one of our Teacher Fellows, to spend his summer in the Mississippi Delta as an intern! We asked Brady what made him want to intern with Reclaimed, and here is what he shared:

“I wanted to intern here this summer because it is another way I can invest in the community here in Marks through the summer camp and other outreach opportunities that will come up.”

Brady asked for the following prayer for his summer: Please pray for strength and perseverance in faith this summer.

Pinelake Oxford served with us in Lesotho this past week! We are so grateful for the ministry they did and for how they loved the Basotho. They helped us deliver food packages to vulnerable families and shared the Gospel in several different villages. We are so thankful for the new believers who chose to follow Jesus in those villages!

The team shared testimonies during our high school morning assemblies and led a teaching time for our high school on Scripture memory over the weekend. They also spent time at our care centers playing with our younger kids and leading crafts and games! They served with all their hearts and truly blessed our ministry this week.

We had a great time at the Discipleship Program in Marks this week! The youth painted canvases, and it was a great way for them to express themselves. For some, they captured what they learned this year through art! Thank you to all of our generous donors and volunteers who help make nights like these possible. We couldn’t do this without you!

Reclaimed’s mission is to engage, equip, and empower the church to bring Gospel hope to the vulnerable.

“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!’” Romans 10:14-15
