Starkville Bridges

Starkville Bridges Starkville Bridges is a community organization committed to eradicating poverty in Oktibbeha County. Step one is bringing our community together.

Starkville Bridges Out Of Poverty is a team of people from across our community who recognize that poverty affects everyone and is a problem that cannot be ignored. Our goal: to eradicate poverty in Oktibbeha County through an iterative two-step process. Step two is putting people who want help with people who care. This is done through a course called Getting Ahead which is facilitated by graduat

es of the Bridges Out of Poverty training. Through an intensive series of classes, group discussions and real-world activities, participants develop relationships and resources to help them achieve their own "future story". By working together, we can better understand and address conditions that contribute to poverty, improving the quality of life for everyone in Oktibbeha County.

Thank you Kathryn Entriken for establishing the Starkville Poverty Coalition. The prayer meeting today was one of the most hopeful and touching events many of us have attended. It was wonderful to be with so many who care deeply about this issue! Thank you Christian World Ministries for hosting the meeting. I am looking forward to working with all these wonderful people to help those in need in our community!
