This week, we painfully say goodbye to Dolly Parton and Tim Curry—two icons who, in very different ways, helped generations of LGBTQ+ people feel seen, celebrated, and a little more free to be themselves.
 
Dolly was a steadfast ally who spoke openly about acceptance, supported LGBTQ+ rights, and welcomed q***r fans with the warmth and generosity that defined her life. Tim Curry’s unforgettable Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show challenged ideas about gender, sexuality, and conformity, and became a defining piece of q***r culture.
 
Their work reminds us that joy can be radical, authenticity matters, and there is power in creating spaces where people can be exactly who they are. To Tim and Dolly, thank you for everything. ❤️

Join Triangle Community Center for an LGBTQ+ Senior Beach Meet-Up on August 25 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.

LGBTQ+ adults 50+ from Connecticut and New York are invited to enjoy a summer afternoon on the Long Island Sound, connect with community, and meet other LGBTQ+ elders. Bring your own beach gear; light refreshments will be provided.

Free to attend. CT-registered vehicles park for free; out-of-state vehicles are subject to a $15 parking fee.

📍 Look for the rainbow feather flag at Sherwood Beach, between the 9/11 memorial and the “Oh My Gosh” snack bar.

Rain date: August 26. The decision will be made by noon on August 24.

🚨 Calling all artists — time is running out! 🎨

Submit your work to Stamford Pride’s Annual LGBTQIA+ History Month Art Show and become part of a month-long celebration of q***r art across Stamford. Check out some of the incredible pieces from last year’s show below!

Open to artists of all backgrounds and experience levels, this year’s exhibition will be featured at venues throughout the city — kicking off with an Opening Art Crawl on Friday, October 2nd. Selected artists will also be eligible for awards. 🌈

Submit your work for Stamford Pride's Annual LGBTQIA+ History Month Art Show and be part of a month-long celebration of q***r art across Stamford.

What does belonging look like in LGBTQIA+ spaces?

Join us tonight at Ferguson Library's Harry Bennett Branch for a screening of Shape: When Idolisation Leads to Exclusion. This documentary explores how dating apps, social media, and gym culture shape body image and standards of acceptance within the LGBTQIA+ community.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with LGBTQIA+ counselor Dr. Matthew Phillips (PhD, MEd, LCSW, CST) and LGBTQIA+ health and disordered eating expert Dr. Lauren Matera (DO, MPH, FAAP).
