The soap opera of corporate cannabis continues with lawsuits, high-dollar jury awards, hidden ownership structures, loan defaults, backdoor deals, all under confusing state rules. Missouri regulators have now realized that the companies recognized by the state as owners of a cannabis license are not always the same people or companies effectively controlling the business. Who could have imagined that?

State rules proposed the week of the trial could impact a plaintiff's future in the cannabis industry.

Aspergillus is a common mold found indoors and outdoors that can cause illness called aspergillosis in people with weakened immune systems or lung diseases. The mold lives in soil, dust, compost piles, and decaying vegetation and grows in damp or humid indoor areas. Spores float in the air and are inhaled daily by most people without causing harm. It can worsen asthma or causes allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA). It can form a fungus ball, Aspergilloma, in lungs damaged by past illnesses like tuberculosis. Invasive Aspergillosiscan spreads rapidly to the brain, heart, or kidneys in people with very weak immune systems; this type can be fatal. We don’t want Aspergillus in our w**d.

Juicy J’s infused pre-rolls failed testing for Aspergillus, a mold that can pose health risks at high levels or for people with weakened immune systems.

What is the optimal storage environment for your high THC product? -20°C should do it. C*D tolerates room temperatures. THC-rich matrices were highly susceptible to ambient degradation but exhibited the highest stability when formulated as ethanolic solutions and stored in the freezer. Now you know, apparently cannabis researchers had to test it for the record.

Storage at -20°C preserved cannabinoid integrity

The threat of arrest for w**d still depends heavily on where you live. Ma*****na arrests have largely held steady or increased where cannabis remains illegal, while declining sharply in the 24 states that have legalized.

“Most judges would read [House Bill 2641] and go, ‘What is going on here?’” said Chuck Hatfield, attorney for the plaintiffs. “‘This seems like something we need to at least dig into and figure out.’ And that’s what our clients want is a day in court.”

A federal judge is weighing whether a lawsuit challenging Missouri’s new h**p law should survive, with the two sides battling over where legal h**p ends and ma*****na begins.

Missouri courts have expunged more than 154,000 ma*****na cases since voters approved the 2022 constitutional amendment to legalize recreational cannabis, according to data compiled by Missouri’s state courts system. If someone feels as if they should have received an automatic expungement for a ma*****na judgment and did not, they may reach out to their Circuit Court Clerk’s office. The clerk’s office will review the case file and “they will work to get the charge expunged…” There would be no need for someone to file a (writ of mandamus) petition.

Missouri courts were supposed to automatically erase eligible ma*****na misdemeanors from criminal records by June 8, 2023, six months after voters legalized recreational ma*****na. But in a recent St. Louis case, the Missouri State Highway Patrol told an appellate court that “hundreds of thousand...

You would think that a federal hearing on rescheduling adult-use ma*****na from Schedule 1 to Schedule 3 would involve ALL parties affected – both advocates and opponents. That is absolutely not the case. The DEA announced that they will only hear testimony from seven participants who OPPOSE ma*****na rescheduling. NORML along with other advocates are banned from participating. Cannabis consumers and the cannabis industry are completely blocked and will not be represented in the upcoming June 29th proceeding. The June 29 hearing represents one of the final major procedural steps in the federal government’s effort to review ma*****na’s status under the Controlled Substances Act. After this hearing, no more federal bureaucratic effort will be expended on rescheduling or descheduling.

Following the Supreme Court's 9-0 unanimous ruling in United States v. Hemani, which struck down the federal ban on fi***rm possession by regular ma*****na users as unconstitutional, changes to the ATF Form 4473 are expected but not yet formally finalized.
The legal and regulatory landscape is shifting to accommodate this ruling:
• The Supreme Court Ruling: The Court decided that disarming someone simply for using ma*****na violates the Second Amendment, specifically because there is no historical tradition of fi***rm regulation that justifies it.
• ATF Form 4473 Changes: The ATF is currently in the process of revising Form 4473. While proposed revisions have been drafted that remove specific warnings regarding medical ma*****na, federal law still technically prohibits unlawful controlled substance use until the form is officially updated.
• Rescheduling Impact: The Department of Justice also moved to reclassify ma*****na as a Schedule III controlled substance. This shifts cannabis closer to federally recognized medical prescriptions, moving it away from the same restrictions applied to Schedule I drugs.
Until the ATF formally publishes the updated form and instructions, the existing Form 4473 remains in circulation. You must continue to answer the controlled substance questions truthfully as currently written based on your state and federal status.

A federal agency that regulates guns says it is planning to provide guidance in the wake of a Supreme Court decision this week that found the government’s efforts to criminalize possession of fi***rms for ma*****na consumers is unconstitutional.
