🚐💙 Exciting news for our Mobile Sensory Zone! 💙🚐

We are so excited to share that our **Mobile Sensory Zone now has its very own vehicle!Our new-to-us Mobile Sensory Zone van will give us even more opportunities to bring this important resource to community events throughout Lane County and beyond.

Having a dedicated vehicle will make it easier for our team to transport our sensory equipment and create a calm, welcoming space for individuals who may need a break from the noise, crowds, and stimulation of community events.

We are so grateful for this exciting addition and can’t wait to see where our Mobile Sensory Zone takes us next! 💙✨

🎉 Carnival: 1:00–4:00 PM

Volunteer Shifts:
• 10:00 AM–1:00 PM – Setup
• 1:00–4:00 PM – Games & Activities
• 4:00–7:00 PM – Cleanup

The August 31 deadline for the Partners in Policymaking applications is quickly approaching!

Partners in Policymaking is a leadership series hosted by Disability Rights Oregon that starts in September. The program is designed for parents of children with intellectual or developmental disabilities and adults with developmental disabilities who want to strengthen their leadership skills and become effective advocates. Participants will learn how to build productive relationships with elected officials and policymakers to help create positive change at the local, state, and federal levels.

If you're interested in becoming a stronger advocate for the disability community, now is a great time to apply. Learn more about the program by reading the Partners in Policymaking Informational Brochure, and submit your application online before the September classes begin.

💜 What a wonderful day in Florence! 💜

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for today’s Families Connected event! We had such a wonderful time connecting with parents and families in the Florence community, sharing stories, exchanging experiences, and talking about the joys and challenges that can come with raising a child or children with disabilities.

We also want to give a very special thank you to Connections NW , Impact of Oregon, and Direction Service for partnering with us and helping make today’s event one of many more toncome.

One of our biggest hopes for today was to remind families in Florence that even though they may live in a smaller community, they are not alone.There are other parents walking a similar journey, families who understand, and people who are here to listen, connect, support, and build community together. 🤝💕

Thank you to every parent and family who came out, shared a little bit of their story, made connections, and spent the afternoon with us. We truly enjoyed meeting each of you!
