🌙✨ What an incredible evening at the 3rd Annual After Dark in the Park! ✨🌙
On Thursday, September 17th, an absolutely gorgeous evening at beautiful Dorris Ranch brought together an amazing group of community members, partners, donors, sponsors, and friends — all united by one purpose: increasing access to the programs, services, and recreation opportunities that help our community thrive.
Throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to connect with different Willamalane departments and learn more about the work happening across our district. Thanks to SELCO, one of those departments walked away with a $2,500 donation to support their equipment needs — an incredible example of what community partnership can make possible.
Guests also enjoyed delicious food and beverages, participated in exciting raffle prizes, and were dazzled by the incredible live music of Isaac Barrager. But the most meaningful moments of the evening came from the people who shared why this work matters.
We heard stories about how Willamalane helps older adults stay active, healthy, and connected. We heard from a grateful mom whose child participates in Willamalane’s Tiny Ducks Preschool, and the difference that program makes for her family. And we heard from a Willamalane staff member who works every day to help community members access food, scholarships, recreation, and opportunities for their families.
Our very own Cari Grossman said it best:
“Willamalane has the honor and privilege of acting as that drop of water to someone in the middle of a desert.”
That sentiment captured the heart of the evening.
And our community turned up BIG. 💚
Together, we raised $80,000 to help continue increasing access to fundamental needs in our community — while also creating opportunities for people of all ages to experience the joy, connection, health, and belonging that parks and recreation provide.
This incredible result would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, speakers, staff, and everyone who showed up to support the Willamalane Park Foundation.
