Good Dads Good Dads is a nonprofit with a mission to help kids and communities one dad at a time.

Good Dads began when business leaders in Springfield, Missouri recognized the impact of father absence on child well-being and came together for the purpose of supporting engaged fathers. They understand the value in helping fathers become more engaged with their children. They welcome the chance to promote father involvement in a way that benefits them, their customers and their community. They appreciate the potential to provide leadership in ways unique to their position.

How is your child feeling now that they're back in school? Nervous? Stressed? Tired? Ready for the weekend?

Some dads assume that they don't matter much to their child's educations. But that couldn't be farther from the truth! In fact, research shows us that a positively involved dad has an enormous impact on student success.

This week on the blog we sit down with an educator and step-dad whose mission is to help dads see just how important they are in the classroom. He also has some great tips for making this school year a great one!

Wow! ❤️ What a remarkable evening of joy and celebration at our Good Dads Rolla chapter! Three dads walked the stage last week for the chapter's first Graduation event! Everyone gathered to honor these dads for achieving a huge goal!

These dads completed both classes in the New Pathways for Good Dads program. They are employed, paying child support, and/or contributing to the wellbeing of their children. They have demonstrated perseverance, dedication and a willingness to grow.

Thank you to our skilled facilitators, Shaun, Don and Sue, for being these fathers' biggest cheerleaders. And thank you to First UMC for generously offering classroom space. This is an amazing example of community togetherness that deserves to be celebrated!

Co****le, kayaking,nerf gun challenges,food prepared on site by loving folks that enjoy serving others, campfires, volleyball, baseball catch, and more. It's the first day in the classroom for Springfield Public Schools, Springfield, MO — and many other school districts in Missouri have already had their first day back, too. Good Dads is thrilled to be in almost FIFTY schools! That's almost fifty schools who want to welcome dads into their building. Almost fifty schools who know just how important fathers and father-figures are to their students' success. ❤

It's not too late to bring the Good Dads Strong Schools program to your local elementary school; in fact, the new year is a perfect time to bring this new opportunity to school leaders. Help us reach fifty and beyond!
