David Feinstein, Director of the Eric Carle Picture Book Ambassador Lab, visits Ermelinda’s Family Child Care program!

We loved having him spend time with the children. How adorable are these little faces?!

Mother Nature was not on our side today, but that didn't stop our King Street preschoolers from picking pumpkins!

Our preschool staff transformed the hallway into our own pumpkin patch! Children got to pick out their very own pumpkins to take home and decorate, creating fun memories and celebrating the fall season.

A big thank-you to Michelle Grout and her team at the Springfield Downtown BID for making this wonderful annual tradition possible. We are so grateful for their continued generosity and support of our Square One children!

In the spirit of fall, our school-age students got creative by designing their very own scarecrows!

The children started by tracing their bodies to create life-size scarecrow outlines, then brought them to life with drawings, decorations, and plenty of imagination. From start to finish, it was an afternoon filled with creativity, laughter, and fun! We love seeing their imaginations come to life!

If you have a school-age child in need of care after school and during school breaks, please contact our enrollment team at 413.732.5183 or by email at [email protected].

As the colder months approach, we’re grateful for the continued support of our friends at Burkhart, Pizzanelli, P.C. and Operation Warm, who — year after year — work hard to keep our Square One children warm by providing them with beautiful new winter coats!

A new coat is more than just clothing; it is a symbol of care, respect, and inclusion. It offers warmth, health, and comfort, while also fostering confidence, self-expression, and emotional security. By giving a child a new coat, you are contributing to both their physical well-being and their sense of dignity, making a meaningful difference in their lives.

Please consider joining our friends at Burkhart, Pizzanelli, P.C. and make your donation today!

In celebration of Children’s Environmental Health Day, our preschoolers had a wonderful time learning about the importance of having a healthy environment around them. Led by our VP of Family Services, Melissa Blissett, they explored what makes our communities healthy and safe and then used their creativity to draw pictures showing what a healthy environment means to them.

It’s never too early to teach our children how to care for themselves, their communities, and the world around them! 🌎💚
