Your creative work deserves a real home, and Springfield deserves an artist hub right downtown.

Willow Oak is opening its doors to working artists for the first time. Come create the studio space of your dreams.

Imagine a dedicated studio space inside a place already alive with music, learning, and the arts. A community that gets what you do and supports why you do it. No more making it work in a corner of your living room. We’ll celebrate you, promote you and host events around you.

This is the space you’ve been waiting for, right in the heart of Springfield.

Spots are limited. If you’re ready to take your work seriously, let’s talk.

Location: 301 5th Ave W, Springfield, TN 37172

Just a small glimpse of the people helping reimagine Willow Oak for the future while also protecting and honoring the foundation that has made it so special to begin with.

What you see here is only a fraction of the effort (and headcount!) behind the scenes. There are so many others: additional board members, volunteers, supporters, advocates, and quiet doers, who are giving their time, energy, and ideas to help shape what Willow Oak is becoming. Some are in the room making big decisions, others are showing up in small but meaningful ways, and all of it matters more than we can fully put into words.

This next chapter isn’t about starting over, it’s about building on a strong foundation. Taking what has always worked, what has always mattered, and finding sustainable, thoughtful ways to carry it into the future so it can continue to serve this community well.

To everyone who has stood by Willow Oak through every season, thank you. Your belief, your patience, and your support have made it possible for us to keep going, keep growing, and keep dreaming a little bigger. And we can’t wait to continue introducing you to the many people helping make that happen.

Because the Impressionists Artist Talk was so popular, we're scheduling them every two months! Come hear how Durer's works influenced the history of art and create a block print based on his techniques. Emily Shearron Montiel, who has an impressive knowledge of art history, is the instructor.

We had the best time at our Flower Gardening class with Lisa Smith! She's an extraordinary teacher with so much information, a huge passion for gardening, and a great sense of humor. You can see she's serious about cutting back her plants!!! Looking forward to her teaching more classes at Willow Oak.

There’s truly not a day that goes by that Patrice isn’t helping Willow Oak with something. She may say she’s retired, but from where we’re standing, it looks like she simply traded in her corporate role in Atlanta for a full-time position right here...with plenty of overtime. 😬

If something needs to be organized, tracked, counted, or remembered, Patrice is already three steps ahead. She knows our inventory down to the smallest detail, and if you ever have a question about what’s in the building, she’s the one to ask. Curious about a class? There’s a good chance Patrice has taken it, supported it, or helped make it happen in some way. She doesn’t just show up, she fully invests herself in the experience.

More than anything, Patrice brings a steady, generous energy to Willow Oak. She’s the kind of person who quietly fills in the gaps, keeps things moving, and makes everything feel just a little more cared for. The kind of community member every organization hopes for, and few are lucky enough to have! (Thankfully, we are one of them!)

Patrice, we are endlessly grateful for you. Willow Oak simply wouldn’t be what it is without your time, your heart, and the way you show up for it every single day.

Featuring Founding 60 member, Margot Fosnes!

Margot has been part of Willow Oak since the very beginning, sitting at Muzetta's kitchen table where the original vision first took shape and helping bring it to life. As a founding board member, she’s been a steady believer in what Willow Oak can be: not just as a space, but as something deeply woven into the fabric of the community.

She understands something that often gets overlooked: a community isn’t complete without the arts. From supporting education to strengthening mental health to building a shared sense of identity and pride, Margot has always championed the role of creative spaces for both children and adults.

We’re so grateful for her early belief, her continued support, and the foundation she helped build for what Willow Oak is becoming.

We are so thankful for you, Margot!
