Problems with the thermostat aren't exclusive to Earth... I tuned in yesterday morning to the Artemis 2 crew and Mission Control team chatting just after the astronauts woke up, and one of their first requests was, Can you crank up the heat, it's freezing in here. Mission Control's response was priceless... We adjusted one of our dials down here overnight, we'll get that fixed for you. Sounds eerily similar to my household... I dial down the thermostat at night and get begged to turn it up at dawn :-)

How many of you have woken up to find that the temperature on the thermostat somehow changed overnight?

There are a lot of things that happen on the way to the moon that happen in our every day lives….

The crew of Artemis 2 are now orbiting 42,000 miles away from earth in the Integrity capsule and preparing for the translunar injection burn which will send them towards the moon tomorrow.

In the meantime…. There is a lot of systems testing, science experiments, and every day life happening onboard. More on this later…

Less than 25 minutes until the launch window opens and, for the first time in over 50 years, the world sends four astronauts to orbit the moon, including the first woman, the first black man, and the first Canadian to orbit the moon!

So excited to look students in the eye at camp this summer knowing each of them will be able to look at someone who has been to the moon and looks like them!

And can't wait to see what the students inspired by this will do in the future, as we reach further into space; this is only the beginning!

If you missed seeing the Northern Lights last night, there's a greater chance to see them tonight. Yes, even here in Robertson County! The forecast tonight is calling for partly cloudy and a little chilly, but bundle up and get out there with your cell phone. Hues of pink should be visible to the north, but if you snap a photo with your cell, the colors will be more visible.

The strongest part of this geomagnetic storm may still be on the way — and a G5-level event can’t be ruled out.
