To do otherwise is reprehensible and a sure sign that we've become morally bankrupt. We unequivocally believe that all citizens of the United States have the right to a fair trial with competent counsel to prove their innocence. Denny Petitt was denied a fair trial because of inept counsel, media bias influence on the jury, inadequate investigation, and inexplicable lack of forensic testing. We be

lieve that Denny Petitt was denied his basic civil rights and was unfairly convicted. Accordingly, Denny Petitt's case should be reopened and reviewed by the State of Illinois through the grant of a new trial.
